Unless a ping indicates torps coming from the side or torps making a big curve, DCP is a bit of a waste when it comes to dodging homing torps as you can do this speed and turns and the automatic break at ~300m from the lead point that exists now (differs per class iirc?).

 

If stationary, sure, if you can actually get some speed, otherwise might as well ignore.

Depends on which iteration we’re looking at. The silly citadels have been removed for instance.

A lot of people like close quarters though. It’s different from the main, but not necessarily “bad”. More chances for ambushing, secondaries and cruiser torps actually being useful. It does not favour attrition based units and more alpha strike instead. It forces more quick decisionmaking and that too isn’t bad per se. Of course it means lots and lots of of Gerry ships…

:) That's not the issue. Not being 1v1 its a team mode. What one deserves is irrelevant in this context.

All until they appeared in randoms. Ranked is my main mode. IF subs reappear there, in their current form, that will change.  One form of retarded abomination is more then enough.

 Yes that's an accurate description of brawls. Without subs, of course.

 

Otherwise, it would be nice if you wouldn't contradict your arguments, yourself :) Ya know, bonus points for credibility :) Attrition has nothing to do with overwhelming DCP, but the latter has everything to do with team tactics.

Bad/good teamwork and individual bad/good play and resource (consumable/DCP) management is always relevant to what either side deserves. :)

I havn’t contradicted anything… :/ Plus I’m not sure what you’re think I’m argueing (against).

 

Attrition and DCP do have a lot to do with one another btw: flooding and fire damage due to not being able to use DCP as it was used to disable a ping is damage over time. That’s the main complaint regarding subs’ ping influence: taking away DCP for repairs and causing increased vulnerability to attrition, as well as not being able to perform other repairs to damaged modules.

 

In theory, you could even argue pings increase the need for DCP management that negates attrition. (Which might be good for long term DPS units, but not for the enjoyment of the game by the target).

Nah, nope.:) I mean the phrase is true, but that wasn't the point:). You said, if somebody misplays (with their DCP)  deserves to be sunk. But that has no relevancy in our case, coz we talk about brawls (context) and that being a team mode, gets reflected back at the team .Even if the team has no fault if one is bad at  consumable management, because, they have no saying in who gets cast in the team. Coz MM is ( presumably) "blind". Therefore is a bad argument. (Context is always king.:)) A is an A and not a B even if both are letters and part of the alphabet.

Yes and no. Yes attrition is DOT, however overwhelming the DCP could have immediate consequences, like you said yourself (again :)). And don't forget that this goes both ways, HE spam could also open up avenues for the sub to strike.

The argument is again, invalid, because while the threats concerning DCP have increased, they weren't balanced out by other means Like more charges ( for Ru babbies) or shorter cooldown.

Which equals bad, lazy and careless game design.
