The only benefits from camouflage is that you can sell it a get som credits. Since there is no other benefits from camouflage why does it then cost dublons? It's like handing out seawater to sailors. Total useless and a wasted of time and energy.

Make them useful or just drop them.

Why does make-up even exist? It has no benefits and the multi-billion industry around it could just hand it out for free.

As a consistently bankrupt player every credit that I get from free handout camo’s is welcome. It’s peanuts for sure but it all adds up.

Keeping all ships in port, fully equipped ( modules and upgrades) starts to get expensive. But gives a lot of coal and steel during Xmas though. And with snowflakes in mind I really pushed my credits last month trying to get as much of additional T10’s in port. Which I now have to yet fully equip since they were bought without upgrades. Plus my premium ship drops had to be equipped as well. So it’s not that I am not earning enough credits but I ended 2022 broke with a deficit in equipping my new ships.. And then even a few sold camo’s helps financing another module.

I just sell them - I have a number of permanent camos from before the change and these have endowed those ships with some economic bonuses and cannot be sold but otherwise I go naked! I got over 300 million credits and a lot of economic bonuses when the change came but as only I would really see the camos in game and not that well, they seem pointless. I wonder how many actually are bought each month. In the past I would buy some as they game detection and shell dispersion bonuses but as this is no longer the case, why bother? As said above, tops up the credit bank so not complaining.

Some people just enjoy having permacamos on their ships. Totally useless ofc, and yet cosmetic upgrades are an integral part of most, if not all, MMORPGs out there. Easy money for the company and (usually) small purchase for the player. That was actually something WoWS community asked for a long time, instead of gambling early access ships or other similarly brilliant ideas.

I removed all camos from my ships (even permanent ones) after this change. I see no use in sailing with a camo anymore (as I hardly see my own camo).
So WG can keep spending resources on creating them, I simply won't use them.

Yeah, quite silly drawing comparison between digital cosmetic products and non-digital cosmetic products.

Indeed its very silly, one requires designing once and then has infinite free copies available forever, the other requires raw materials, manpower, machines, logistics and shelf space, for as long as this wish to produce and sell it.

So i couldnt agree with you more. Its quite silly.

Waste of time and energy..

Pity there isn´t an option to "sell all"

Sadly, your letter has not arrived yet.

If only there would be an electronic, nearly instantaneous service of exchanging mail. You know, comparable to an actual post service, just digitally based.

Ok, how do I explain this politely. There is certainly a benefit to make-up. Women try to apperar more enticing, that's an advantage in the great propagation competition. If you have never been the target of such considerations is surely an oversight on their part.

Thats okay and your personal choice. I am not even going to justify or explain anything, if you decide to or feel this way, then so be it.

This is a really bad move, perpetuating the cyber mobbing case of the so-called "Drachengame" around the self-named "Drachenlord".

For reference, German speakers may read this commentary from Sascha Lobo.

As another reference:

The non-profit organisation HateAid, listed as first contact point for victims of cyber-bullying on Germany's official state website and sponsored by multiple inner state departments of Germany, has refused Drachenlord as a case due to him propagating digital violence himself. Here is a media article covering it.

It is open for anyone if they want to believe an official NGO against cyber-bullying or a columnist with a red mohawk.

Endorsing cybermobbing against anybody, notwithstanding if the person aimed at did or does himself use violence of any kind, is always bad.

Yes, this Youtuber has been convicted of several misdemeanors, IIRC related to violence (German criminal code: §223ff StGB), insults (§185 StGB) and usage of Nazi symbolism (§86a StGB). Yes, he exposed himself to the public with some weird actions.

But this is never a justification to try to make SWATting happen, to trespass on and to damage his property and to relentlessly harass him.

His own public exposure is in my opinion a justifiable rationale for the refusal of help by this NGO. But, as stated, it is not a valid reason to endorse and join the bullying.

Regards, Nightowl

Thought the idea of make-up was to make one look more attractive and help attract someone of the opposite sex (or even same sex nowadays). Not sure the same can be said for digital camo's, though maybe I'm playing it wrong.

No you can buy cammos for credits. All the cammos you can see ingame that are expendable you can purchase with a few exceptions. There are doubloon cammo purchases too but those you can't sell

They earn money through camos bought with doubloons. Some ships have more than one camo you can purchase by doubloons. The first one will always be at a small discount for around 200 - 300 doubloons per cammo. But every additional one can cost up to 7000 doubloons.

Another way is simply by increasing ways of spending credits in gmae some players might feel the need to buy more lootboxes or boosters to help them boost their credit income. This way by spending credits on expendable camo WG can indirectly earn money.

got it

i am sad that they removed bonuses from camos (even 3% stealth) cause i like ship with camos, but will not pay for them now as just some minor skin change

pitty

The stealth bonus is now by default on all ships.

I'm happy that the bonuses are gone because now I don't need to use an ugly camo just for the bonuses anymore.
