Hi captains,

I would be thankfull anyone of you explaining me, how to attack enemy ships with plane squadron of Kearsage tiny tims. I have never ever played CVs because I didnt want to play them and still dont wont. I bought Kearsage because I like the thought of 12 NC guns broadside, and Kearsage guns are excellent with dispersion in 6 slot. I play mainly co-op so the planes are not so important to me at the moment, but when I will have time, I would like to play randoms with her. Can someone of you tell me which keyboard button I have to press to get the green aiming circle to target an enemy ship? Also can you tell me how to best avoid enemy flack, should I attack an enemy ship from the side or it is better to attack  enemy ship from the bow and stern?

What is your prefered tactic with Kearsage planes, do you use them for spoting or it is better to avoid using them completly, if someone like me does not have any CV experience at all.

Thanks for your suggestions in advance.

Open a training room and practice how to attack there and how to dodge flak against stationary bots with armaments on.

You start an attack with one click of the left mouse button. Afterwards you aim the planes carefully with the mouse. The rockets have a firing delay of 5 seconds so you have to lead the traveling path of the ship correctly. You release the rockets after the reticle turns green by clicking the left mouse button again.

To avoid flak training is required as only your own feeling can teach you.

Its best to use the planes to attack not to spot as you can not count on your team shooting at what you spot. Use then often on targets to set fires or to annoy them

Agree that you should give it a go in coop or a training room. They are fairly easy to use though so shouldn’t take too long.

Thanks.

Kearsarge planes are borderline OP imho. You always want to attack BBs mostly from the side at a 90 angle. I had strikes for 15-17000 I think if I aim them correctly, so taken into account you do this in between your T10 Montana guns salvos its pretty good. So, shoot the guns, launch the airstrike and then when the planes strike you can zoom back to the ship and get another salvo of.

When flying the planes (which launch with 4 button I think), when you atart getting close to enemy broadside you click LMB once to go into attack mode (sight is forming), when that turns green you take less AA damage, and then when sight is on target you click LMB again to launch attack.

The preferred tactic is you use your planes to harass and kill enemy DDs because that wins games. You circle around enemy DDs to force them to use smokes or die, or force them to turn away. If you learn how to lead you can kill enemy DDs with the rockets but that takes practice. Besides using them to get 15 000 strikes on BBs you make sure no one can get away. Spot enemy DDs with last known markers on minimap, hunt down low HP BBs and cruisers that try and disengage and go dark to heal up and then you spot them and call target on them or finish them yourself.

Best to avoid AA flack is to not fly in a straight line. Considering you want to strike the BBS at a 90 degree angle you should start the attack run at a 45 degree from the broadside and while you fluy in and the flack starts you just adjust little to the perfect 90 degree angle and most flack will miss.

Best is always to strike single targets out on their own rather then fly into 4-5 ships AA to try and strike.

Late game in games without CVs K gives a great advantage since you can spot and strike all over the map which is key for winning. Also killing of DDs left alive.

K is better then soon to come T9 hybrid line since, its a Premium, It has more guns, and imho better airstrikes.

Also a good thing to understand is that you can fly up and spot a preferred target with the planes, commit the attack and while the attack runs its course you fast switch back to the ship and guns and while your planes spot the target you have time to aim and get a shot in as well. So you can almost perform perfect double strikes on a single target. Especially good for killing of mid to late game DDs , otherwise unspotted.
