How best to play them: don't. They have CL guns with CA fire rates, which is absolutely horrible. All the negatives with none of the positives. Even their AA is a joke.

Extremly careful.

 

They lack:

• armor
• agility
• firepower
• range
• precision (thx to slow shells)

however, I think that mogami with the first version of 155 mm guns is much better than shimanto.. I find the loading much faster..

Just started this line. While Agano was just meh in every aspect, Gokase is a tragedy. Atrociously bad ship, especially the guns. Hilarious dmg, slow reload and with their slow arc, you can't even hit a destroyer from 7 km afar. And the torps well good luck finding a reasonable opportunity firing those. Really hoping the T7 one is gonna be better.

This, all of this. There are (several) better lines to play in this game, so why play these. I'd even rate the Zao line over these.

Well good news, bad news. Good news: those are the same 155's as  Mogami. Bad news: your DPM and agility are both atrocious, and your armor is no better than the previous two.

I actually quite like the T6 one. However...

T7 & T8 absolutely awful. To the point that it handicaps your team.

 

I'm not going T9 or 10...
