Apparenlty hard mode is already implemented.

So I finally get into the game. Half team already dead.

Finally the BBs know exactly where I am and take me out.

Also mind that bots were intentionally ramming the transport ships at the south border. 3 of them rammed.

Meanwhile WG says its OK. They are "monitoring" the situation. 

AEGIS is fine. Operations are fine. There are no bugs. Enjoy the game.

I don't know what they did to Aegis, but this Operation needs to be removed from the queue until they fix it. It is now completely unwinnable. It was hard but okay before, but this is really a sad joke and I want all my boosters back from when I get it.

It's winnable, but annoying. The thing that's changed is that it's now very difficult to get five stars because killing those buffed BBs at the end is a stern test  - they have oodles of HP and are very accurate in their return fire - and the convoy needs to be properly defended. Anyone attempting it the "old" way (focusing on sinking the BBs, not protecting the convoy) is likely to be disappointed.

No, what I am talking about is something they introduced very recently, where the bots from the first wave drive straight east instead of southeast, thus being very far away, and the second wave doing more or less the same, staying very far north. This results in a vertiable cluster**** of enemy ships in the middle of the map that just blaps everyone approaching. This seems to be some sort of bug, since after we got this one today, the next Aegis was normal. But something is up, also with Newport, but there it is not making it unwinnable.

Not seen that but sounds like the bug to end all bugs. Typical it appears in the most annoying Op of all.

Well WG has admitted this evening in their official stream that there is something wrong with the OPs aka Aegis

Whats wrong right now with Aegis is that the bots keeps running on ground and they take a longer route at the first spawn

AEGIS is fine. Operations are fine. There are no bugs. Enjoy the game.

I just played Aegis again this year and I had the opportunity to relive the WG fiasco on this operation:

- Mr Smith and Mr Akulov have once again run their ships against the nearest island, making no contribution to the game.

- The first and second waves of the red ships have behaved erratically, but without being a drama as all players out of combat after 5 minutes.

- But the entire left flank of the reinforcement ships has appeared a couple of knots from the transports arrival point to sink them one by one in undeniable superiority.

Maybe that person from WG who answered you wasn't really from WG, or has never played the hell Aegis version or maybe just lied to you... I don't know, but these are hard times for random operations players.

Another success story...

@lup3s you can have all my Aegis matches.

At least 3 of 10 are Aegis for me ...

 

They made something to the battleship bots in the past month.

Before they never hunted you down .. they just sat in the middle of the map .. now they know where you are (even if undetected) and rush straight at you and take you out.

 

What WG and Seraphice (to whom I have been complaining about) don't understand is that, a design, where you actively spend 10-15 minutes carrying KNOWING THAT YOU WILL FAIL IN THE END is a bad design.

I have quit a game, when I was the only one left (because I knew the bots cant make it to exit in time, let alone fight off 10 ships rushing then) AND I GOT PENALIZED FOR IT.

 

But they don't get it ... they think Aegis is just fine and are "monitoring" the situation, yet 9 out of 10 random games for me is literally the same game (as screen above).

That's a bit odd, I haven't had Aegis in a couple of days now - at one point we thought WG removed it from the pool.

Talking about on the receiving end of focus firing! Think I'll just return back to port the next time I see this OP.

 

It is hopeless with most players you see in operations and the 400 to 550 basic XP is a joke for your effort.

WG have a sense of humor, 2nd game is this pice of SH*T too. 

 

Sh*t WG bot and low life player having nothing to do but play BB running away not even aiming at the same direction of bots, he just sailed up and down the borderline. Not even went back to port, if you are going to spend time playing, why not just shoot?!

Ngl it seems that trying to "fix" this Op just broke it more ... she was fine at the start, I never saw the bots beaching or the multiple waves sailing strange paths - shitty players however, those were there from the start  :cap_haloween: (and I think WG can't fix that)

I bet WR of this ops changed significantly since the rework. I used to farm this ops in Anshan (and farmed it heavily in Cleveland back in the good old days) and people never were failing as miserable as they do now.

It's well known that Bots have a version of the RDF/Radio Location skill baked into their coding, primarily to prevent a PvE game lasting too long if a human in a DD etc decides to hide from the bots behind an island or in a corner etc. So Bots have always known where you are, in Ops they were just given route instructions to follow very closely until they hit a "final" waypoint at which point they were released from their route and reverted to their "RDF/RL" based charge-bow-on-directly-at-the-nearest-human-even-if-they're-undetected AI code.

I've got about 50 Ops over the last 10-ish days and my Aegis success rate is around 50% but I've never seen the bots do anything even close to all the hassle they create for you. I find the bots work as well as they always have done and it's the sheer amount of Japanese 203mm HE (at range) or very hard hitting torps (if close-in brawling) which makes this particular game very difficult, although Ultimate Frontier is still my Bogeyman for Ops.

Yeah I remember. Some youtuber once uploaded an Anshan game of mine (on Aegis), but I can't find it. :cap_book:

 

What I also remember is : we were facing Kumas and Kongos and Fusos back then, maybe a rare Furutaka or Aoba ?

 

Now, there are no CLs, only CAs; with that brutal IJN 203mm HE you're not only set on fire but you also eat a lot of raw damage.

Now, all BBs have 410mm guns, no CA/CL at T6-T8 can bowtank those; something you could vs the 356mm guns of Kongo and Fuso.

Now, the DDs are Kitakazes, no need to tell how strong that ship is, especially with increased health and damage. (and yet very few seem to focus them first)

 

Aegis can still be citadel farming simulator (see below), but it requires more teamwork or a more appropriate ship.

Sadly, teamwork is almost non-existent.

Yes I agree, every OPS is easy with a good team. But this are randoms we are talking about and my initial thread was that Aegis is too difficult for random teams and that it stands out in WR from my experience of hundreds of games since the rework. A small sample, but a valid one.

Played it several times lately havn´t had any issues

You are correct, I wrote that in anger after that strange experience, thinking they fked up Aegis completely. Turns out it is a bug or something that only happens occasionally, I have had four more Aegises afterwards and they were all regular, and regular Aegis is hard with terrible players, but of course absolutely winnable. Only that bugged Aegis is unwinnable except maybe with a good large division.

I like to see the % of random team getting 5 stars in this operation. I have not got it yet, as there is either no time or not enough teammates left to take out all 3 red BB at the end. 

 

In the past you can always go up north to get their boardside, but with the current HE spamming IJN CL in the 2nd group, it is not possible.

You can still do this if you focus fire the two ships closest to the islands which clears the way to have a DD get up there. I'm using a Torp Reload Booster HSF Harakaze (16x 610mm 17.5k damage Torps in 8 seconds) running Stealth, 6x 100mm guns and SE for 5.4km concealment, good HE pen and 16k+ health and I'm generally doing quite well, depending on well the rest of the team do TBH.

 

Generally the team can take on the first middle group without me so I head north for the 2nd group to appear in the top/left and use all 16 torps on that top group to knock them down quite a lot. By that point the transports are arriving in the North so I let my team finish up the survivors of my torp attack whilst I head North East and torp them through the island gaps before heading into the top/centre and waiting for the BB's to appear, by which time my Reload Booster is active again, plus 3 sec reload 100mm AP against broadside cruisers at <4km is citadel city!

 

The worst version is with the exit down at the bottom/right which causes a few issues:cap_fainting:
