WG wanted the game so simplified so as to let the moron in.

Just look at Subs.

The moron will part with cash far quicker than anyone else and so is a nice fat juicy 'Bovine' to milk.

WG never offer anything of quality anymore they either rehash the same stuff we've been playing these last six or more years or create a monster.

Can WG introduce some training missions for players to learn basics (proper aiming, proper positioning, proper reading minimap)?

Unfortunately WG don't care if the player base know the basics. In fact that knowledge would work against their business model. WG simply want people to spend money and lots of it trying to buy success, before they become frustrated and move on to another game.

Wait... where is the karma from?!

people use all their reports on him first but because they are not satisfied yet they also use the compliments just so they can reduce the karma next time again to make it more satisfying

Although I agree with the general feeling, let's not forget it's (end of) Christmas season and patch, with all the usual features it implies: plenty of casual, below-average players who are in just for the goodies and act accordingly (depending on ship, zero push sniping, big damage farm, YOLO rush for quicker rotation...); normal players getting frustrated and salty because of the former group's gameplay, in particular if they themselves are on a grind rush...

I know the degradation has been noticeable since long ago (complaints about "weekend warrior syndrome" now occurring during normal days and so on), but at the same time we're currently not in the usual day-to-day gameplay state but in, say, "western holidays" state, so a slight improvement should happen in the following couple of weeks as the celebrations are left behind. The real worry is the situation not improving at all from now on until around the midst of the next patch, for that would truly signal an irredeemable collapse in core playerbase quality.

Salute.

P.S.: Still, the whole thread (my post included) is being naively optimistic. Rock bottom can be surpassed with stubbornness, shovels, drills, and explosives.

If you think this issue further what happens if the „red plague“ would be removed from the game, then

1) yellow and partly green would be the new red

2) blue the new potatoes - everything is relative, right ;-)

3) playerbase would be decimated by a significant share causing longer waiting times in the queue

4) WG would be motivated/forced to squeeze even more money out of less players resulting in even more „creative stuff“

Everything is relative and the top of the pyramid is neither crowded nor spaceful..

WG is now only after quick money, they dont care about anything else.

WoT, their biggest game is 13 years old, WoWs their second big game, is 8 years old, and both are slowly dying because of both age and their stupid game management and policy, which fuckes up both games, so their income is reducing a lot. All their other games except these 2 are failures.

Right now, WG only interest is to milk both games as much and as quick as possible.

This is why.

If there are hordes of red players who are buying premium ships, WG will be happy.

You missed the point... by a few 100 miles...

The point is those players don't even know the most basic mechanics and are as such useless.

Ofc there will always be worse players and better players. But if even the bad players know and understand the mechanics you will get better games.

The decay started when they released on steam, cos instead of people actually interested in naval warfare searching for this game any numpty now gets a message "hey, try this free to play game" not helped by the fact that steam players get lots of free stuff that us "originals" don't get.

And then the pandemic made it worse and it's just been on that slippery slope from there, not helped by idiot decisions to dumb down the game by adding the crutch classes (that a person has to have minimal interaction with cos they are automated or have a button that then makes them invisible and invulnerable whilst allowing them to still deal damage, oh and one of them gets a base xp boost too) and superships that you need to earn your manna to use your special abilities.

these last 3 weeks are always bad this time every year as all the glue eaters have finished cleaning their windows with their tongues and have come to hear the big guns to boom whilst they have time off work.

TBH i don't think even adding such training missions will help as the players that want to improve will search for YT vids etc to make themselves better and those that just want to look at the purdy boats and hear the booms are not interested in improving themselves and so won't do the missions or will just follow the instructions complete it and learn nothing and go right back to how they were before.

This is the type of people WG want, people that just don't care too much will just consume the product that is given to them without making a fuss and buy the premium ships they want and then get board and leave for the next cookie cutter mobile game experience

I disagree re steam,  yes it brought more players to the game but that was years before the pandemic struck,  the pandemic/lockdown and WG’s whole greedy incompetent and arrogant attitude towards the player base is solely to blame;  look at Dido and canary being pushed out again aimed at noobs who haven’t got a clue how poor they are, karma system is crap, MM, training / intro to game, Capt skills, Cv rework, aa, subs ; you know the thing WG promised we’d never see and that most of the player base said NO thanks to; and we have them in game.   You literally could not make it up how badly WG have managed what could and should be the best game on the planet, but  given WGs origins is it any wonder that it’s not:  make something great and to be admired and then flush it all down the toilet !.

And key point is, most players don't want to learn, they want to make funny boat noises.

WG can't do much with that, but they can relieve them of their money one way or another... so they are useful at least, keeping the game running?
