Was a little disappointed they were so lazy as to simply pick three Santa cards at random after some people (not me) were really creative in their submissions. Makes you wonder why anyone tries at all when we think that those on the choosing end are going to select carefully and with respect toward peoples creativity (again, not me), whereas in reality it's a 'just choose any three folks, they'll never know'. I feel sorry for the deserving few who made real effort.

And then they were late, when even I waited in patience all day on the 25th to see who the lucky winners were, only to hear the rushed, pitiful excuse the next day. Bad management and a total lack of respect. I can appreciate the humans working for WG also need time off over the festivities, but don't say you'll publish on the 25th and then don't. That's poor form, poor form indeed.

Best wishes to WG staff and to the players.

This game, at its core, is something I loved playing in 2022.

I look forward to enjoying it in 2023.

As was announced, the results were published in the thread where it was actually happening:

and it was published on 26th, so just one day late than announced.

Hi!

None of the cards were picked at random. We went through all submissions, picked out ones we liked and subsequently chose 3 out of those.
We also gave 3 more gifts to some other captains who had cool submissions that had smaller wishes as an additional bonus from us.
If you had checked the posts from said people you would see they were not picked just at random.

As for the post being late, unfortunately the script I used to plan the post did not work on the 25th and I wasn't around to fix it at the time, so I fixed it when I could on the 26th. It was an unfortunate technical error.

Fair seas captain!
