Worst possible rare drop

So i have opened a few too many mega boxes and got various ships. Not exactly blow away by the results, but i was straightout disappointed with one- and im kind of curious for a WG statement tbh.

I got a Massachusetts, rare category. Amazing right?

 

Right... Until you know that i already owned massachussetts B. That all of a sudden makes this rare drop one of the worst drops possible.

To make things worse, the same happened with Sims.

 

Can you please start grouping these ships? Im seriously disappointed with that drop.

Massa is a great ship. Take a look at your missions, maybe you got one for Massa to get Dubloons

I had EXACTLY the same situation one year ago. Massa B from 2020 Black Friday event, and then regular Massa from 2021 Santa box, so not even the doubloon mission (as the regular Massa  did not come the same year as the black one). And Masa is not a ship that you want to have built two different ways (unlike my Atago and Atago B).

 

This year I have got similar situation, Dunkerque B in 2021, now regular Dunkerque from one of the Magaboxes that I got for the tier 10 ship certificates. So again no doubloons...

There is no doubloon mission if you dont get the regular ship within weeks from the black one, or if you did not already have it before the black one. So unless he got his Massa B this year, there is no compensation.

Yeah this one should be changed. So if you get the regular Massa having Massa B - you get the mission. No matter how long time ago Black Friday was. But when WG will implement that or if they'll do it at all...

Dissapointment and frustration is the large part of any gambling operation's business model. They will only adress the enviroment and circumstances in which you gamble, but won't adress the core emotions they milk. Ever.

This is all according to plan. Black ships are duplicates to make you pay twice, one way or the other. Similarly, rare ships contain a lot of fluff, so that they are not so rare. Who wants a Hizen as a rare drop?

Yeah this one needs buffs imho, reload and additional heal charge.

Maybe in conjunction with a 10% reload nerf for all BBs, as we have way too many of these in the first place.

Imo you have to choose, either get black containers or santa crates but not both as you will get many duplicates over time.

Well the USN slow BBs at least have some decent sigma. Hizen has bad reload + bad sigma (same as Kii)

A special combat mission will become available for Captains who fulfill one of the following conditions from the start of Update 0.11.10 until the end of 2022:

• Obtain a Black Friday 2022 event ship while possessing the standard version of that ship.
• Obtain both a Black Friday 2022 event ship and her standard version.

Recommend you check for the special mission that rewards you 2500 dubs for this "worst possible rare drop" 

And if its really the same deal with Sims you might wanna look for her special mission as well - I think this one is 1500 dubs.

 

Besides every ship you have can´t drop again, so technically there is no "bad" ship drop. Even if you just keep them in your port and practically never use them the presence of each ship eliminates it from the drop list for you.

The question is - are they taking about the mission duration or the time when you can get such one? 

 

Edit : I got my answer. 

"The special combat missions will be unlockable with the release of Update 0.11.10 and continue to be unlockable

 

until: Sun. 01 Jan. 02:00 CET (UTC+1) / your local time: Sun. 01 Jan. 03:00"

 

What I said that such mission should be unlocked no n matter the timing. So if he could get regular Massa even after 3-4 months from SC - it should trigger the mission. Unfortunately that's not the case, it's limited to the end of 2022.

Well I got Chaklov in a santa crate and got the mission since I alredy had the B

I absolutely don't play and hate aircraft carriers and that's why in recent years I got all possible premium or special CVs :) (Immelmann, Malta, Zeppelin, Indomitable, Ark Royal, Bearn...) :D

Personally, I am not delighted with Dockyard ships being declared "rare". The reason why many poepl don't have them in port is that most of them were unappealing even at the comparatively low dockyard price. I skipped Hizen, Marlboro, Puerto Rico and De Seven Provincien. In hindsight I wish I had skipped Anchorage and I could life without regret if I didn't get the Odin, ZF-6 and Schröder.

None of these ships has anything rare about it. The reason they are not available for purchae in doubloons is utterly arbitrary, maybe to give its owners a false sentiment of rarity. Rare ships are supposed to shine in quality, which none of these ships does.

WG just classified those ships as rare, so they can deny the dearly paying customers any of the ships they gamble for, so they come back next year and try again.

Oh boy, what a casino, clothed as a ship game, this operation has become.

Same thing happened to me. I bought Mass B when it could be bought, and then I got the normal one in a Santa crate.

Anchorage was unique when it launched… usn high tier heavy cruiser with smoke and torpedoes.
