It does make the net gain a lot better than on a tech tree X. Not on tier IX premium levels, mind you. But the tier X special/premium/whatchacallit are not too far behind on net gain. Somewhere around where tier VIII premiums are, according to a list I've seen. The higher perma bonus somewhat leveling out the higher maintenance and lack of extra profit factor.

 

Tier IX still make for the most efficient credit grinders though. No arguing about that.

Yeah with that in mind yes - its close to T8. In the past before that change (which I missed out for some reason) T10 special ships earned a bit more than T7 premiums.

People who were paying more attention may correct me, but I believe the reduced service cost thing was there from the start, at least for the specials; it's just that all the 'buy this shiny thing' blurb has always focused on the top line of the metaphorical P&L for ships.

 

Not sure what the state of play was back when the silver cost was in relation to how much damage you took (or whatever the mechanic was)...

What? Thunderer was never set up with two gun options. It was created from the second gun option on the Conqueror, which no one used.

GK still has two gun setups like before. Just checked.

You never sell any premium. Ever. Even T5s, cause you can get them again in SC or Santa Crate. More mid tiers you have the better chance to get higher tiers in Santa crates.

I have never ever sold a single premium ship, that is shy I still have some of the earliest premium ships that you earnt in events suck as the Kamikaze,

Why would anyone sell the Kamikaze? It's a very powerful ship on T5.

I have those three ships, but I regard them as OK.

I am referring to Toulon, FR25 and Leone (which also "benefits" from having no ASW).

These turds are associated with lines of regular ships which I find particularly unpleasant to play in my peasant world of PvE.

I have played them  a total of about 20 games as penance for my sins. The Regia Marina destroyers are OK for spotting missions, nut that is about it.

I have 60 premium ships from 187 and 22 Tier X I bought maybe 10-12 ships in 6 years.

My Tactic is Buy only Tier X for coal an steel + two mistake Pommeren and French Admiral

You appear to be a collector, but my advice would be "Don't bother".

 

Toulon - worse version of the Cherbourg/Brest/Marseilles line. I love French ship usually, but this line tries my patience. Very unsuited to PvE in my opinion.

 

Leone - Vile. I hate it with every fibre of my being.

Pathetic torps which are slow and few in number. The ballistics from the guns make you feel that if the shells went any higher then they would enter Earth orbit! Fragile beyon belief, even for a DD. No ASW to deal with the submarine infestation.

 

FR25 - a gimped French Guepard with the torpedoes swapped for the god awful Italian ones.  Fast, and useful for spotting missions, plus it has real smoke. Best of a bad bunch.

Toulon dropped in a Mega Santa Crate, know what you men with Ity DD's torps are slow, guns are god awful and you can be spotted before you can get in gun range, nearly completed that line, will not be playing them as part of regular fleet, maybe as an odd aside but not regular

 

Just got through the T9 ity DD today, very underwhelming, just need T10 for Ity DD's, French Super Cruisers, Dutch Cruisers and Pan Asian cruisers, then develope the stuff that I will not be playing, DD's and Russian CV's and then anything else, although the Japanese Light Cruisers will probably be into full development soon so T8, T9 and T10 for those to be added before subs and Russian CV's

 

Count of ships now at 487, will also get the dockyard cruiser this time as nearly there already

Just waiting for the Turkish Navy, hopefully Sultan Osman II will be included as a premium (will then have all three versions of the same ship, initial purchasor, after sale put=rchasor and end user)
