Typically this ends in me getting annihilated as the enemy DD can outgun me and has less floaty shells. Is there any particular advice for successfully engaging in a DD dual? As soon as you realize that you are having equal fight or losing, use your smoke to disengage. Get your smoke ready again before picking new fight. Never try to achieve something with the cost of more HP than you are ready to lose( 0 is not an option usually).

You'll get some idea. It is a really good boat. Hunting DDs and capping is the key to wins. This is a DD that does both good.

Daring has the easiest time of basically all DDs to disengage thanks to it's short reload smokes If he's not that good at Daring, he's doing the right thing by not jumping straight into the cap. It's not optimal, but it's a lot better than losing his team a DD early because he's not comfy enough to do the optimal aggressive play. Also getting straight into the cap can be a trap. Often times I prefer scouting out the area before going into the cap, even if we lose the cap in the process, simply because the team (and I) has more value from critical spotting rather than an early cap. Because I will be going in there once I have the information I need, and I'll kill whatever DD is still in there trying to hold it. The usual potato teammembers will complain, but as I know what I'm doing I just block out their 47% advice.

Especially in a DD, you have to trust yourself and your instincts over your teammates. That might mean you're occasionally wrong and do a mistake, at which point you have to own it if you made the wrong call and try to correct that for the next game. But always trust yourself, because if you cant trust yourself then you're no longer able to follow your overarching gameplan which you need to have set in order to perform this important role.

There will be a mix of those that just want you to spot something, and they do not care if you die, as log as they gain points, and then there is others who understand bubkus and just want you 'to win the game' and they are usually soon dead as well. There will rarely be a player that actually KNOWS what is best FOR YOU and your DD to go. What you need to do (but you probably know) is stay alive as long as possible. Make it difficult for the enemy, be an unseen threat. If you are the last DD alive, you are the most important. You do not need to kill the enemy DDs all alone - your teammates should help, and if they don't, well FCK them.
