Deleting the whole homing torps on target would be a good step. Maybe they should make it a consumable that they only can use 3 times each match just like smoke. The vast majority of sub kills are from BB and cruiser airdrops whilst underwater or when they come up for air from anything with a gun. Certainly not DDs, one of the main functions of a DD in RL ironically enough. And getting a competent sub captain is one thing, getting one that can hit another sub is another. If RTS CVs ones was anything to go off, WG don't want people to learn how to play a class. So they make things easier for them instead like the CV rework. So I get where you are coming from, but WG will never do it. Plus, homing torps are semi fine as long as they limit the damage done compired to normal ones which they have done. Using a damage control mod to throw off the torps is both stupid and unrealistic but hey, WG had to come up with something. The thing is that they can never be balanced as they have been shoehorned into a game which doesn't support its type of warfare. Plus Wows has the classes so messed up that anything goes and balance is unachievable at the basic level. A certain member of the WG team was politely moved to another position remember, that's how bad it is. But luckily, the class is being captained by mostly bad players by far, so it's hard to judge just how strong they can be in a few right hands. I played a hand full of tier 6-8 games and after either shotguning DDs in the face with @Europizzaor lighting them up like Christmas tree for the enemy to blow up one by one it wasn't my style. Can anyone else account for that (other forum members)? But for the other 11 players on your team, the go to sub killers are BBs and cruisers with aidrops. Not the DDs which you prob know if you play the class. You will also know how to shotgun ships out the water at pointblank range too. Soz, had to add that in. But to kill it it needs to b2 over her so it is risky Regarding shotguning it is high risk high revard move. To shotgun you need periscop depth. Periscop depth counts like surface so any hydro or radar lights you up. Also 2 km autodetect rule applies to periscop depth. And if there is other sub there she can ruin your day poping 9 km surveillance that lights you up. So shotguning is valid and strong but not that easy to execute. Not to mention unposible on kiting flank. And why I think sub is best sub hunter? A) best detection in game 5.5 on TXso only other sub can directly detect sub on surface B) best tool for lighting up submerged sub with long range and duration C) strong tools (guided torps) for direktno kill D) if not direct kill lighting her up from your ream to bomb her to hell 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
