Yes, there is exactly the game mode you're looking for. It's called "random". The tier 10 bots in randoms show even more broadside than in coop btw.

So the games ARE getting faster; presumably games played in Dec are faster than those played in Jan too...

Only in the higher tiers when you come down to the tier 5-8 they last a lot longer. The snowflak event makes that people try to finish the OP as fast possible (but still i had games who lasted longer 10-15 minutes when we had to search for ship stuck on a island.

Yep, fast cruisers with hydro and torps are what I find best for co-op now.

 

press W, navigate islands.    When get in close the make sure hydro up.

 

once torps launched decelerate and hard turn into ship to avoid torps and then launch own torps into bot.

 

german BC line at t9/10 also good for this.

 

either that or if need DD missions will take out handful of DD

 

days of taking BB in over for me, as found that difficult to get damage when the DD and Cruisers clean up before can get many salvoes off.

Despite the very very anal auto Torp avoidance co ops are a lot easier than in previous years and yes they last less than 5 mins,  dds and cruisers charge in and blap the bots while bb players are still thinking about where to camp.

 

Even a co op with just one player is easy; I had Edgar in a all Supership co op match I got 5kills (why no krakens etc for co ops !!). Well over 250k damage and totally bossed the game.  It was very boring, thankfully I’ve fallen back on another recent addition ; Salem,  my new favourite bote, it’s a lot of fun 😃.

 

The thing is I’d rather have a quick gaming session than play with total idiots in a random.

A game in for enjoyment, and that was what I had hoped to do in Randoms until I ran into people trying to take possession of the game, deciding who could play it. Giving a -1 is one thing, telling me to uninstall the game, that I should die and other "classy" things is not OK

Maybe it is time for you to become a man and stop being butthurt of meaningless things that others write in chat, just a suggestion.

That is true. They tend to be 2+ minutes longer a lot of the time. Occasionally going over ten minutes, which high-tier coop battles pretty much never do.

I think it's a pretty pointless game mode personally. Good only for grinding last few pts for modules, rewards, missions etc.

... make sure to accidentally eat them all so you can enter the next coop game faster and are done with the annoying snow flake farming earlier.

 

Yes, this is impolite towards your team, you could leave some of the torps for your teammates - but if too many die early, there are none left to finish the game sucessfully if only coop mains remain.

One of the few times I remember co-op lasting the full duration was where I was the last one alive (in FdG IIRC) versus one bot Monarch.

I say "last one alive", I was just alive and the bot Monarch had been hardly damaged.

We had got more caps and points than the bots, so tried to disengage and hide - run down the clock and win on points.

Problem is the bots have a form of RPF so they can always find you.

There are times in co-op where the battle is over very fast and other times it can drag out.  If you're in a slow moving and firing BB it can be quite easy to not achieve much in a battle.  I think now-a-days WG are messing with the spawns and AI behaviour - quite often there is a random magnet on one of the flanks or the middle that seems to attract a lot of the BOTs.

 

A lot depends on how competent the players are.

 

One thing that may give more of a challenge is if the BOT team had two or more ships than the player team.  I think I've seen ranked games where there are different number of players on each team so that should be possible.   Having uneven teams may result in slightly longer battles.  I presume thought would need to be put in to decide if the additional ships were top tier and what class.
