Hi all,

How are your habits nowadays regarding expenditure of Economic Bonuses and Signal Flags in battles (especially after the separation of Cammos and Bonuses)?

I find myself that I use Economic Bonuses in every battle Ranked/Brawl/Operation/CoOp (yes - even when I slowly grind my few remaining lines in CoOp) but I use the Signal Flags almost exclusively in Ranked (and I didn't play Random in months)...

How is your experience? Do you have some rule or it is a "spur of the moment" decision?

only rule, get camo, sell camo. no point in it anymore. they should reinstate some dispersion affect.

I use the gray bonuses on T5-7 ships, green ones on T8 + 10 , blue on T9s or when there are missions for free exp, commander exp and credits + in clan battles.

I don't put any bonuses or flags when I play coop. If I play operations I use the gray bonuses. In ranked I use the blue ones for commander exp and free exp, green for credits (playing T7 ships in ranked).

Well I use camo if I play Mysore, Novorosyisk or Sevastopol. Some ships have a very basic permaflages.

Depends on how many I have left of a type, I guess. Never use blue ones in co-op, and usually save them for daily wins in other modes. Never use red unless I have premium + a larger daily win bonus than 50%. Green and bigger credit bonuses are mainly for t7-10 premiums since I'm hurting for creds more than anything else these days. When it comes to ship XP, currently I try to use green for 5-7 and blue for t8-9 to make those later grinds less grindy. FXP, since I don't have many, I try to use them on high-tier ships that just get more base EXP.

Pretty similar here - got quite a lot of the boosters in stock, especially the green ones, and currently have zero interest in playing randoms. So I just slap them on in Co-op to grind my stuff there and I´ll use the +800 % ship XP there as well if I feel like doing it.

In Operations and Ranked I use both boosters and signals without any personal restrictions.

sell all the greys

use the greens on most Premiums and all tech tree ships in Ops

use the blues on some Premiums in Ops (e.g. Le Terrible, Flandre, Bayard, Mainz, Kutuzov, Rochester)

My habits haven't changed much. In coop I do not use combat signals, never have.

In randoms I mostly fly green boosters and full combat flags. I have noticed that whenever I try using blue boosters I get horrible MM. Must be a weird correlation.

What has happened is that I now actively use green boosters for ship XP in coop. As most lines I grind in coop are trash, it's not a loss.

PS: Haven't noticed any big changes in income.

Green boosters and no signals in co-op unless I have reset a line I might have a blue ship XP booster.

Blue boosters and full set of signals in random operations.

First of all I should mention I'm a very sick individual, that keeps record of my stock of bonusses and signals over time. So I see what stuff I get more than I use and what depletes over time. I adapt my usage to that.

Economic Bonusses:

XP:

I use the XP bonus only on grinds and recently mostly on regrinds. Usually I save some FXP, if I can afford a stock battle and use the blue XP bonus to get as much XP as possible to unlock B-hull or whatever module is most important. I know, I'm cheap.

After the ship is fully equipped, I switch to green XP bonusses, if I want to elite it quickly. If I like playing the ship and have time, I use the grey XP bonus.

CXP:

Depends a lot on the prospective baseXP earnings. On T1-T5 mostly none. At T6-7 maybe grey ones. On T8-T10 green ones. It depends a lot on the ship. I use the green ones more if the commander is maxxed and generates ECXP. I also use green ones to promote commanders of frequent regrind lines. They are among my most played ships, so maxxing their commanders makes a lot of sense. The blue bonusses have been given out by WG rather restrictively. So I only use them if all stars align, i.e. a game mode that yields high baseXP and a ship that can carry and generate good baseXP. A typical situation is early Clan Battles, when you still get weak enemies and havea high winrate.

FXP:

Similar to my CXP-policy. Just since it is a general ressource and not specific to a ship, it all depends on the prospective baseXP earnings. So higher bonusses on higher tiers, better ships and better game modes.

Credits:

Again pretty much equal to my FXP-policy. I mostly use them on high tier premium ships. The blue ones on good T9 premium ships in game modestaht see high credit base earning. The green ones in T9 premium ships in Randoms. The grey ones on lower premium ships and T10-special ships.

Signal Flags:

I use them rather minimalistic lately. My usage is mostly based on how quickly I earn the signals back. Since I don't spend money on lootboxes, but only buy ships directly, I usually get less by-catch.

Usually I don't use any signals below T7.

I use detonation flags on T8-DDs and above.

I use secondary range flags on all secondary specced ships.

I use speed flags on very slow ships or ships that depend on speed (e.g. open-water gunboats)

I use fire signals on DDs with IFHE (i.e. IJN gunboats)

I use flooding signals on BBs with low torpedo protection.

I don't bother going beyond Bronze League in Ranked, so I don't need signals there.

I use a full set of signals in Clan Battles. If they still ere as popular as i nthe past, I would run out of signals easily. Since WG doesn't bother with CBs anymore, I usually don't end up playing more than a couple dozen CBs. So I only lose a couple dozen sets.

All in all my sentiment is that we get less signal flags now, so I need to use them more thoughtful. Just as Wargaming has demoted all tiers one step down by introducing a new tier on top, we imo need to change our mindset to apply different rules. I might stop using detonation flags at T8 if they keep coming so slowly.

FWIW:

  • Sell the greys, or I would if the functionality were working at the moment.
  • Use the blues on more or less everything, every battle (excluding XP on premium/elite ships), which mainly means Coop at the moment.
  • When I eventually run out of blues, I'll switch to greens.
  • Reds I'm keeping for things like Clans/Ranked.
  • Signals I'm not really using except for Clans/Ranked (haven't played Randoms for ages - submarines).

Like most people seem to, I view one-use cammo as a source of silver.

  1. I rarely use camos, but then again I don't often play tech-tree ships, and when I do I often have a permacamo already.
  2. I bought a lot of cheap (100-200 dubs), nice-looking permacamos when they were decoupled from permabonuses: Elbing, Harugumo, Grozovoi, Udaloi, Fletcher, Marseille, Algerie, Henri IV, , Regolo...
  3. I save blue boosters for regrinds (ship XP), FXP or FCXP farming (only reliable high-tier performers, like Venezia) and credit farming (only Tier 8-9 premiums, otherwise I use the green ones, if I have them). The grey and green ones I'll use on anything I'm playing, basically.
  4. The result is that I often have more blue boosters than the other types.
  5. The exception is with ship xp: having most tech-tree ships already, I only use a few boosters during regrinds, so I'm sitting on 1000 grey/green ones that I only use when regrinding low-mid tiers.
  6. I haven't touched red boosters since they were introduced, in fact I wish I could trade them for blue ones.
  7. flags: always detonation on DDs, secondaries when relevant, heal+fire duration on secondary BBs, smoke duration on the Italians, fire chance on heavy cruisers and some IFHE ships (Mahan), flooding chance on some DDs and CVs, speed on very few ships (Tromp...)

Camos I only use permanent ones. The consumables are just lying around in my inventory.

Combat signals I only use in PvP and Operations.

Eco bonuses I still make use of permanent ones. And add consumable ones in PvP and Operations (green or blue), as well as on premium ships level VII and up (grey or green credit/commander xp) and on ships that I'm trying to grind faster (green or blue ship xp ones).

Pretty simple for me:

Grey in coop.

Green in random, ranked and ops.

Blue when grinding something, e.g. when (re-)grinding a line or needing a specific thing for missions.

Haven't used red so far.

As for signals, none in coop and depending on ship and tier for ranked, random and ops.

This game can get quite grindy. So I try to use the things based on their rarity and effect they have. I would argue that using bonuses every time could be a bit wastefull. Now You migh have a lot of them now because of Chirstmass and anniversary events. But first half of year usually dont have events like that. You might run low and be lured to buying some of that lootbox excrement. Call me paranoid, if you have to. But Im looking for every oportunity where WG can try to get money from me. As hard as they do. So Im ready for it and not give in. On the other hand, If you have a lot bonuses and flags. There is no point in hoarding that.

My system is like this:

Expedable camos=Credits. There is no point in using them.

Flags for clan battles and sometimes ranked. Qualifications, or if want to go for rank1. If im just collecting steel. Then I use only those flags, that I have in abundance.

Bonuses (creds,FXP,cmdrXP) grey for low tier. Blue for good premium ships or Clan battles. Green everwhere else.

If I have less than 50 blue or 100 green. I move it a "tier" down. Just as reserve for bad days.

For ship XP I use Blue for any ships that Im (re)grinding. Dont have that many lines left. So the rest I will probaly sell the, when I need credits. Or use them if/when I will run out of blue ones.

I play coops only if i have a bad day in ranked/random for daily wins, or missions like kills, damage with specific nation/class I dont like, etc.. So no point to use any bonuses there. XP(all kinds) and credits are just easier to get in other game modes.

  • Signals: Random and ranked matches
  • Grey economic bonus: Low & Mid Tier premium ships
  • Green economic bonus: Biggest supply here, so these are my everyday grinding assets.
  • Blue economic bonus: Used for high tier premiums (=> credits), missions ("get x credits/XP/CXP/FXP"), stock ship grinds and annoying grinds that i want to get through ASAP, like those boring submarines...
  • Red economic bonus: Kept in stock for whatever future purpose...

Camos:

If I use single use camos it is by mistake. Will sell them when I need credits all except one /each type

Permacamos I do use, I have in fact bought a few for 100/200 dbl on ships that missed camos before.

SHip XP boosters:

Grey: In coop during stock grind

Green: In random/ranked grind,

Blue: In high tier (8-9) random/ranked grind

Red: Stock too limited yet

I never use XP on ships that are ready so to say with their grind

Captain XP:

Grey: In coop on some ships where I use first win bonus for a slow captain grind, generally T9-10 ships w permaboosters that I play for missions

Green booster: Standard booster for random T5+, or on fully developed captain

Blue booster: Standard booster where I really want to grind that captain quickly on T7 pref T8 or above

Red booster: More or less very sparingly used, want to reserve it for new captains on say new tech trees where my good captains are few and I really want a 21 pointer and then in the final phase or at a ship that I am very comfy in to not get totally disastrous results in. Used up most of my stock during the last Nrai festival so this must be rebuilt

Credit XP:

Grey; standard on low-mid  tier random

Green : Standard on mid-high tier random

Blue: used on some high tier Premiums

Red: Not enough to bother

FreeXP:

No particular strategy: Grey I almost ignore, Green on some mid, blue on higher tier but I am more looking for conserving my level, also noticed that WG has chosen to include FreeXP in the last auction as bidding currency.

Therefor when I am doing RB regrinds depending on how much I use FreeXP this shifts the usage, New trees with ships that I do not want to grind subs, new  CV lines takes a toll on the FreeXP and will increase the usage.

I often adjust boosters also to harmonize with the goals,f.e. I am now regrinding the alt US BBs the combination of green Ship XP/blue Captain will produce a balanced approach that If I do another regrind on these + some adjusting play on Alabama and Massachussets where I play w Blue credit/blue elite (now Vermont is at those + Ohio w setup as Ala/Massa this will be reasonable balanced to reach close to 21. Likewise the credits on those are just the right credit inflow to buy the superships on the regular prize or if I abstain get me more captain XP, so that is how I use them. I have bought permaboosters for T9s that I plan to regrind more than once in the near future. As WG sometimes now starts to give boosters that may be placed on any ship I wait until last moment. F.e. I will probaly regrind the RN BC line, Duncan is at 16 but rest at 10p so I have bought a Perma for Duncan.

I had a quite large stock of both blue and green when the exchange tookl place and given the anniversary and holiday season + the first two battlepass seasons I will se more in the summer if my stocks have changed enough for changes.

In general the greys re so ignisificant it is not worth the effort, but non veterans have ofc a different situation.

Signals: yes in ranked +  some flags in higher tier random play, if a signal gets below comfy levels I adjust the usage until reaching good levels again.

Signals only on Battleships in randoms and ops. Best econ bonuses on grinded lines and operation carry-ships (Massa, Weimar, Atlanta, Odin). Green and grey on other premiums and t10. Elite (fully researched) silver ships-no bonuses or signals.

Signal flags for CBs (full set of 8) and sometimes a few (ie a heal or 2nd guns etc picked for ship type) for random or ranked. I just buy them for cash when needed using discount token, but I do feel I get a lot just from playing and dont actually use that many.

Boasters mostly Greens or Blue depending on if I think I will win, Reds for CBs only when playing Bravo with a strong team so very likely to win most games. Grey for low ter ships or coop/operations.

Cammos forget about and should look and sell them and probably have a fortune in spare modules as well in inventory as have not gone and looked since economic rework..... but not short of silver anyway.

I use the green ones on everything since I have so many, except when I'm grinding for FXP, a captain or to XP race through a line. Then I use blue or red whenever possible until I run out of them. Lately I've been grinding through stuff a lot, FXP'd my way through the research bureau a couple of times and been pumping some captin to 21 pnts finally. So blues mostly all the time.

Depending on ships and captain. If I don't need to grind ship or captain, I don't bother putting bonuses on it, except credit and FXP ones. If I have to grind them, then I am using bonuses depending on battle type.
