Recommend me a tier 10 coal ship

Without having any further information, Yoshino. I mean, you can't go wrong slinging that HE from the rear. You're gonna hit things and do good damage. Skill floor and ceiling not too far apart.

I am going to second this. With Marceau coming in second place. Marceau is a great boat, but a easy one to play she certainly is not, while Yoshino is a easy boat to learn to play but not that easy to get the best out of.

Checking your stats, you're good enough to play T10, so at least I can, in good conscience, recommend a T10-ship.

You are not doing well on CVs and you play a lot of BBs. So the question is, whether you would even enjoy Malta or play it at all.

You also don't play DDs much and the available DDs are not suited to get you into the habit of playing them more. They are not suited to get the job done, if you are not very familiar with the class.

 

I'd say pick a cruiser.

Yoshino is imo too casual. You spam too much and too far back. You don't have a lot of impact on the outcome.

Salem has bad radar and a zombie heal it cannot use, cause it takes too much citadel damage.

Moskva has a bit of a comeback right now for Clan Battles, cause of the good fire chance for a russian CA, good radar and tankiness. But it struggles in Randoms due to CVs.

 

Based on all these considerations, my recommendation is the NAPOLI.

The Napoli is quite tanky. The range is bad, but if you take Sansonetti, you should be able to activate more range with your first kill.

It also works in Clan Battles, actually so well, that WG put a restriction on the number of Napolis in a team.

The Napoli has a very unique and interesting play style, since it excels at brawling, while it also can kite a bit early game. You played a lot of games in Tirpitz, Bismarck and Scharnhorst. The Napoli is almost like a secondary-specced BB in a cruiser slot. Very tanky, very scary at close range. A ship that can carry and turn the outcome of a battle, if you know how to take chances.

I second Napoli and Moskva, they are decent cruisers on that list.
Yoshino is the potato cruiser of choice at T10, usually captained by bad players that sit in the back to sling HE and torp, thus having no battle influence at all.
Literally the worst cruiser on that coal list, so I dont even understand why it gets recommended here as it's just not good at all.
Since you seem to be decent according to your stats, aim for something higher and go for Napoli or Moskva if you want a cruiser.
Or any of the DDs.

I don't want to recommend anything, but I've enjoyed Moskva far more than Napoli, Marceau or Immelmann. Gunnery is very comfortable and Nerfhofen is pretty rare to face these days.

Seeing you got Malta, how do you like it? IMO it is easy to play but also a bit meh. 
As in, yes you can drop on anything but (lack of) skill doesn't really make it better or worse. 
the damage is mainly dependent on RNGesus. If he likes you... yeah great. If he doesn't... quite meh. 

 

For instance I dropped on an Austin yesterday, sure thing I killed him, but it took me three flights. 
First drop, no cits... second drop: 1 cit. Last drop: 1 cit. Then my team finished him off. 
Same game, one drop on Smolensk in smoke... BLAPPPPP dead. RNG galore.

Malta simply destroys Smolensk if it hits it with its bombs...it is currently the best anti Smolensk ship in the game.

 

Considering ships I have and fun I had with them I would say by classes:

 

CV Malta

Cruiser Moskva, Salem or even Yoshino I got Nalopli only yesterday so I do not know how is it.

DD Marceau

BB Kaserage

 

That is my 5 cents :)...

Just got the Tromp myself and the Tromp is well... Just very different from anything else in game. The air strike is very narrow, so only recommended if you're any good with Dutch cruisers as you have to predict the paths of ships carefully and first have to beat a DD with less than stellar torps and guns in order to get to the point where you can actually use it. But once you do get there, it can be quite fun.

To be clear to anyone who's interested in Tromp, the airstrike has a 3-4 second shorter drop time than the cruisers (imagine dropping a bomb without a parachute, absurd), in a box that looks about the size of the t6-7 cruisers except you can stock 2 of them.

My theory is that if you buy ships with coal/steel/RBP get a fun ship you will know you going to have fun with it. Do not get a ship because someone else told you is good (aka Napoli) and you feel regret. 

 

a) I got Malta on Friday. If you play "Atrocious", is a HUGEEEEE upgrade bringing the British carrier to the same level with the rest of the other nations. Same play same tactics. Is not some "alien" ship that need more than half battle to get used to it, like the other two special carriers. (Max & FDR). 

Malta replaced Max as my favourite carrier, even if has slower airplanes to my liking. 

 

b) Max which is available for you too, is a smaller upgrade to Richthofen than Malta is to Atrocious. I love her, because Max can turn very nasty if you focus to damage farming and not help your team with support. And those battles you going to lose them with 250K+ damage. I rather win helping the team doing 120K damage tbh. 
 

c) Yoshino, is basically Azuma with torps. Same guns, playstyle etc. If you do not plan to get Azuma with FXP,  get Yoshino. The guns are amazing laser driven and they will never fail you, if you know how to aim. Can hit DD like Sherman trying to run at 20km and nuke it. Proper HE kitting cruiser on steroids. 

 

d) Napoli, personally I do not like it because of the very close range has to go to shoot. It has been my worst coal purchase. 

 

e) Salem is Des Moines basically with superheal. I love mine and never regretted getting it. It is serving well as a fun ship. 

 

Finally the other coal ship I got is Pommern. Amazing at brawls and ranked at close combat. Not bad but not great either at random battles. If you know how to tank, you can soak 4mil potential damage from superships, but do not expect to do a lot of damage. Catches a lot of fires from cruisers.

I got Napoli almost 6 months ago and still cannot get used to her. Good for ranked battles, terrible for random. If it had SAP instead of HE, could have been a better ship. 

It's flat arc close range main guns, are big issue. Is great ship to go and take out battleships in brawls, but will suffer against carriers (laughable AA), subs (no hydro), DDs (no hydro) and other cruisers who can keep up their distance.

Aye, the shorter drop time makes it more accurate than those of the Dutch cruisers (quicker on taerget makes it harder to dodge, but then again due to its very limited size its also easier to dodge and works best on bigger and predictable targets) and having two helps a lot in either keeping fires going or getting a hit (where with T6 cruisers you need to HE the target first and wait for it to be repaired to get the same effectiveness - which is quite possible, but potentially more exposed).

 

Becoming exposed at close ranges is its main weakness, it's not great at duels with DDs and unlikely to win on torps, it's fairly big so the chance of catching torps from a side angle is relatively high. Still, quirky and fun little big DD.

From all the ships you dont have, I would suggest you to buy Napoli as she is the most flexible ship from the ones you listed. Napoli is a good ship which have the best armor of all coal cruisers. Marceau is fantastic but a higher skill ceiling ship and Yoshino is good if you want some relaxed long range HE spam. You have to be angled in Yoshino at all times because it is even more vulnerable when broadside, because how long she is. If you want a bb I would recomend you Marco Polo. She has rather longer reload 31.7 seconds with slot 6 equiped, but she has fantastic SAP with which you can devastate cruisers no matter if they are bow, stern or broadside to you. And this SAP works at any range against cruisers and bbs equally. MP is a lot of fun for me. I know that I am weird😅

@FediuldI agree with you, Napoli is hard to work with in Randoms. It has a lot of flows. It is designed as a secondary cruiser.I was trying to get closser to the reds by using Island cover to not to be spotted early, but that tactic wasnt good for me because without radar and hydro Napoli is torped by enemy dds or subs. In this long range meta Napoli in Randoms is a hard ship to make it work. Napoli AP is bad at medium range 12-15, km so it is a no go for me. Napoli also have underwelming HE with bad pen that can only start fires from time to time and not to mention Napoli wild dispersion which is one of the worst cruiser dispersions I have seen in this game.I cant understand why the hell devs crippled Napoli main guns so bad? Do they think that main guns are not worth it because they give Napoli excellent secondaries? But the main problem of Napoli is looong reload that kills the ship for me. Napoli is however for me one of the best ships for co-op. Because bots are stupid to charge😅

Napoli if you play randoms or competitively, Yoshino is imho a better bote but it’s big and fragile, it’s an absolute beast in co ops. 
 

I’ve literally only just got Salem and have only played with her once 😗, but having DM already know Salems got a shorter radar and better heal.    Ironically I did prefer playing Salem as the heal tempts you to be more aggressive.
