Hey,

I'm thinking about installing a few upgrades to  a few tier X cruisers so I inspected all upgrades and slots wich are available. One thing I came across was the "gun fire control system modification 2" uprgade wich gives 16% more range for your main battery and is available for slot 6. But one thing I'm wondering is if I install this upgrade do I have the same max dispersion for my upgraded ship or will it be increased? Or in other words: Affects this upgrade the max dispersion of my cruiser or will it stay the same?

Is someone out there who actually installed this upgrade on a ship and is able to compare the shown dispersion with the default dispersion of this ship?

Thanks for feedback!

The max. horizontal dispersion scales linearly with range. If you increase the range, then the horizontal dispersion on max. range (which you see in port) is increased as well, but the horizontal dispersion on the same distances as before is not changed. So installing that upgrade does not make your ship less accurate, even if the value for max dispersion is increased.

There is even a slight improvement for vertical dispersion if you increase the max. range, but it's not big enough to affect your decision on which upgrade to choose.

In the game client, the only value that is displayed (in the port) is the value at the max range. The situation was thoroughly explained by Commander Cornflakes.

If you want to research more details about ships parameters and how these are influenced by installed upgrades and commander skills, I can recommend excellent app WoWS ShipBuilder (that can be installed on your desktop or used online in your web browser: https://app.wowssb.com/)

You can even display dispersion plots and other useful stuff there.

iThis was actually researched and discussed almost two years ago...

...but yes, to sum it up, what @Commander_Cornflakes said, so it's up to you using the upgrade or not. I have the tendency of equipping it in anything not built for secondaries, not much because of the extra reach but to get the slightly better dispersion at mid range, yet more times than I'm willing to admit the improved turret rotation would've been the better choice.

Salute.
