I thought I was just unlucky, but look at this guy. And more and more containers opening on youtube that I watch tier 5 ships are a thing obviously, like they have 100% drop rate.!

Pretty sure WG had a very low income from these ships. Probably Dalian and Bearn didnt fared too well either, i seen some of those too, from Santa  or Anniversary SC's.

There's no shortlist. Shortlist was you absolutely couldn't get anything good before you had your mandatory Makarov etc.

It's listed in the Santa crates that mid tier ships have highest drop rate.

Don't think there is a short list this year. Yes Toulon was the first ship to drop for me, but the next was a Tier IX Carnot got 3 more ships before I got Collinwood and the subs. It looks as random it can be

If you try satancrates as a relative new player or a player that never bothered to get the low tier premiums because “ reasons” you will get a lot of these ships the hard and expensive way. 
 

Atleast take the effort to kill the low tier coal ships first and play a bit with CT points as well. If you get a Hill, Marblehead etc from a Satancrate, it’s your own fault!

Wasn´t expecting anything but so far I opened 2 mega crates,  they dropped Karl Schönberg and and 4 small ones dropped Toulon

I got two ships, none of them Tier V.

The chance of recieving a T5-T7 premium ship is much higher than recieving anything T8-T10. Add the fact that the list of possible lowtier ships is much longer and you know why only those drop.

Nobody plays ships like the Genova or Nürnberg Copy Nr. 4, the only reason they exist is people not getting guaranteed drops on ships they still miss.

So i had some luck! I have TVII Munchen from free small crate and from 11 mega crates, in exchange for TX certificates, I received TVII Toulon and TVIII San Diego. IMHO Munchen and San Diego are decent ships

Nope... clanmate of mine bought the small DY stages bundle and drew Kearsarge on thursday, then bought 20 crates on friday and then pulled Rio and Collingwood.

 

If short list was a thing, he couldnt have pulled Kearsarge before Rio.

Nope - it is just basic probability math:

 

• Drop-rate distribution by tier (which is uneven, highly biased in favour of the mid-tiers)
• A number of ships that relatively few people actually have (for various reason), like, for instance: Makarov or Fr 25.
• Confirmation bias triggered by an artificially created sh**storm.

 

The 'short list" ruckus only came about because WG did (for that year) not clarify anything about drop-rates, and some people trying to create a scandal.

It doesn't help that he had none of these low tier ships already. I am lucky enough to own most from over the years so when ships drop they're from the small and more rare pool I don't have. Got the gremy and odin today, and was very pleased.

Out of 10 mega containers I got tier VI Monaghan and that was the best of a bunch of...

I do. It is a matter of "the gash ships you don't already have", though, which is why my only ship drop so far has been Rio D J.

 

The fact that most people are getting KVS, Toulon, etc, is just because WG has either made these ships poor (KVS) or too much effort (Toulon), and WG has saturated the Premium market to ensure you will get something you don't want from the Santa crates.

The guy still got unlucky, I would say:

• with 100 mega containers you expect 12-3-1 ships from Tier 5-7, Tier 8-9 and Tier 10/rare, respectively
• he received 17-1-0
• that's 2 more ships than expected, which is nice, but only 1 instead of 4 "good" drops, which is awful.

Not saying it's rigged or anything, but anyone would be disappointed with those results.

I personally wouldn't mind T5 like Kamikaze.

Sadly so far all I've got is another port queen T6 West Wirginia 1941. Shortlist hero Makarov at least is fun to play (until devstrike ;) , T6 very slow BB with low range is not.

I'd go as far as to call Munchen pretty good myself. Not sure I'd call San Diego or Toulon the same though..

Just to make this clear, by the way: Kamikaze and its clones are in the "tier X or rare ships" category. As are Gremjaschtschi and Giulio Cesare.

No there is no Shortlist. I got a Hood.

 

Sure plenty of Players got the same Ships but there is a Reason for this.

These ships were quite new and also often not must have Ships.

I am talking about Ships like Toulon, Collingwood ar FR25

That means that almost every Player was still missing these Ships and several Players now got one of these Ships but and that is the important Part not every Player got one of these Ships when they got a Ship out of a Crate.

Sure you might prefer getting one of the rare Ships instead but they have a very low drop Chance and are therefore rare for a Reason
