How do you grind your Snowflakes

Stealing this from the NA Forum. Now with the bonus when you have lots of ships in port, how do you collect the snowflakes?

Personally I use a mixed approach of coop/random, I also tend to play premiums even if many are just in coop with a captain(s) that I grind in resp.nation. Some ships that I really enjoy in random will be played in random to get lots of extra rewards. I do some systematic in my grind nation/tierwise but I also concentrate on certain ships. I want to get rid of the snowflakes as soon as possible so I can leave that behind, especially the cerificates grind. Also ships that are already at max. captain points will be grinded.

My elite XP generation is very weak as I tend to prio grind of my 19 p captains that are left, or new lines/regrind of lines, where the regrinds goal is to make the captain 21 or at the points I want.

I will use the extra snowflakes rewards on low tier non premiums and ships I do not like. I have this month bought the extra battlepass as you have the 150% first win and it gives extra 5% on steel and coal which with the crates and extra 18x 3 crates in the battlepass seems reasonable.

Subs and superships except. Dalarna will not be played. Bought that as a Swede , with the update to "normal" prize and moved my Chapman to it.

I play each nation in turn starting with DDs, CAs, BBs and then CVs and then move onto the next nation.  I do have a U-69 (with one of the rewards I had to pick that or the Cachelot) and picked up a I-56 and S-189 in the Santa crates but have not decided if I will play those yet as I don't want to play submarines.  Edited: I can claim the rewards for the submarines while not playing them with some of the rewards.

At least I'm not playing all my DDs, then all the CAs etc.

Don't forget there is a filter with "show ships with festival rewards" so you can always play in any sequence and then go back and play the ships you've missed.

I mostly play all my strong Premiums first, specially lower tiers like Kamikaze, T-61, Belfast and also all the higher ones and then use the extra bonus ones to knock of all boring silverships like Yama, Kremlin etc.

I usually play all the T10's first so I can get the certificates, then the T8+9 ships for steel then move on to the lower tiers for coal.

If I do well enough in a game to earn extra reward points I use them on ships I have that I don't play such as Subs or CV's first then move on to ships I don't like playing (I've got quite a few of those).

Co-op only.

Farm gift certs (and reward tokens) by running down my tech tree T10s (and Annapolis), that have no economic bonus, while I still had a few hours of premium time left to maximize credits (or minimize the loss :Smile_hiding: in the case of the latter).

Then play T10s that do have a perma bonus (premiums, freemiums & tech tree) to farm the remaining gift certs :- even without a premium account I can still make a tidy profit.

Use reward tokens to knock off snowflakes from the three T6 CVs that were eligible, the few T11s (so I don't haemorrhage credits) and the T8s & T9s that I don't like (eg HMS Lion, Donskoi, Veneto, Haarlem etc) so that I don't have to play those.

Generally now just picking a snowflake ship at random now and use the reward tokens to knock off snowflakes from tech tree ships that don't have a commander.

I'm now down to about 84 snowflakes from a fleet of ~220 ships.

Apparently, I currently have 489 ships in port; not all have snowflakes, but the bulk of them do, so it's about efficiency for me (Fun - if you like that kind of thing - being a valuable bonus):

  • Coop only (I would have done the same before withdrawing from Randoms too).
  • High tiers played first, then work down (although I think I skipped my superships, having played newly acquired EU one once the day before).
  • Keep an eye on missions, as that might inform the order I play stuff in.
  • Skip anything tedious, and at least some of the anti-social stuff (so long as I've played it at least once since getting whatever it is); so - for example - I'm currently cheerfully skipping anything that looks like a US Standard BB, and most of my CVs, but I did play Malta and one of the damn submarines (the latter cost me two karma, as is Right and Proper) as I'd never played either of them before - they fell out of Satan boxes.

Being able to skip the boring stuff makes snowflake grinding actually rather fun; at the very least, I get to take out a lot of sub-optimal stuff that I might usually not bother with, and/or some things I'd forgotten I had.

I actually had some good matches with the tech tree T10s that I haven't played in a while.

I grind the DDs in coop first as it is easy to reach 400bxp (I have 110 ships so only 1 bonus reward), and cruisers, and I start with TXs then go down tier by tier.

I just play Randoms Battles as normal. Maybe I use my regrinds a bit less and play more of my premium ships. The playstyle is very similar to when I grind credits. Usually I play only one battle per ship anyway, to use the daily win bonus. Only now I knock off snowflakes on my premium ships as I do it. The snowflakes are a by-catch.

By the time I am done playing my premium ships and a few selected silver ships, I got enough free rewards to knock the snowflakes off all the remaining ships. i.e. then one's with low-level commanders or that I hate playing.

This is imo the lowest effort way to do it, meaning that I hardly digress from my regular routine.

Random ops all the way. Each time I win it knocks 5 snowflakes plus the one for the ship itself. Played all yesterday with a 80 plus win rate, cleared all 10 super ships, 70 Tier X and 56 IX going through my T-VIII cruisers

I am starting with T10 for the certificates. Once done here will move on to the Tiers that gives coal.

I use the "Festive reward" filter to keep track on progress.

Do not think I will collect everything on lower tiers. Too much work :cap_happy:

All is done in Randoms, as I do not see the fun in Coop.

I have a buddy and we jump together into randumbs to get flakes.

I have a large port, so I get on average 5 flakes per game. After about a day I'm now almost done with T9s and completely done with T10s.

First for being impatient the T10 ( Satan crate farming).

Firs premium T10’s  by coop. Most of the time reasonable ( 400 bxp) result earning me one free unlock. Unlocking silver T10. Then did some T8 scenario with 4 bonus unlock a piece. Paid for the remaining silver T10.

Proceeded to play operations and ships that can strike hard and fast in coop and use the free passes to:

Get rid of Subs

Get rid of CV ( minus 2/3 good T8 premium ones for use in operations)

Get rid of the slow BB’s

Get rid of non premium T9 ships ( due to cost in coop)

But also paying attention to the missionrequirement of the dockyard. I tend to go for 2 out of 3 ship type specific missions ( cl,dd and BB)

99% CoOp and 1% "Ranked"... :Smile_hiding:

I also use "Reward" to skip Tier XI and Tier V and Tier VI... :Smile_honoring:

Started to grind them in tier7 ranked, because I want to get the ranked rewards, and wanted to farm enough coal for Tromp, as well. Only grinded two tier-10s so far (Tromp and Haru). Not in a hurry, we have six weeks to finish the grind in a relaxed way. I plan to play all T10s in randoms, and most T8s and T9s as well. It’s a good occassion to revisit my not played ships.

T10 first to get New Year Atests, next small factions/nations destroyers, cruisers and fast battleships to get certificates for slow battleships and other classes.

I just go from left to right and up and down, doing so for me is more balanced as the steel and coal enabled me to get Salem, which means another Gift certificate when Salem’s played.

And not having played a random in year (idiot player base), I play co-ops 95% of the time these days with the odd ranked, brawl or operation now and again.

Operations. Most of the times enough bxp to get all extra rewards (4 in my case).

This way I was able to get the rewards for all of my TX ships, and most (so far) of my T9 ships. :Smile_coin:
