That's not stock Ohio though, is it.

No it's not, but also it is not stock Montana.

If I go by the wiki, stock range is 7.5km (against 7.3km for the Montie), fire chance is 9% and reload is 3.5 seconds (to Montana's 4s).

:cap_like: well at least he knows now where to look.

Still better than the Montana. But not anywhere near as much. Definitely better than Vermont, which sits at 7.3km, 5% and 6 seconds, with two twin turrets less to boot.

Yes they are both better than Vermont. But you'd NEVER go close in a Vermont, because you cannot get away if it goes wrong.

However a secondary-build on Ohio is "viable". On Montana, not so much.

Here ya go.

The difference is, Ohio reloads faster, and has longer range. So yeah it has better secondaries (and 1% more fire chance).

Montana has 20 (10 x2),  Ohio has 20 (10x2) so no difference in the amount of guns.

However it is not a Schlieffen or Preussen or Kürfürst.

I think that similar boost (like Ohio) but in her tier range should get California to become little more interesting to play with her slow reload and speed(I got it last year in Container) she is my biggest port Queen

Is it really a problem of not getting away if things go wrong. Or more one of simply not getting there in time to begin with? :cap_haloween:

I think that I will take Ohio (I didn't make definitely choice) but I must collect little more RP first then I will decide :)

You have almost 10K battles and as such you probably know what ships you like. Seems to me though that you like to play Co-op a lot more than randoms.

I think there are better ships for co-op than Ohio, really. The few times that I have seen co-op, it was like a bunch of pirañas on a piece of meat.

What you'd want for co-op is probably more like, something with smoke, preferably torps and a lot of fast-fire.

Not sure if you'll like Ohio in co-op.

I got that this year from a Satan Crate, have looked at a review (on Youtube) and haven't touched it yet... :Smile_hiding:

Well the thing is, you do not actually need to go anywhere in the first place. With that range and slamming power...

But what you DO need to do is find a position where you can harvest the best from, AKA can reach most "camper positions". :Smile_trollface:
And then you need, in the end, to push in and blap everything that is in your way. The enemy needs to be ~50% then (one-shots), or they will kill you.

Hoever, it DOES move, and you need to pick a side. Just if you pick the wrong one, two things might happen:

- you picked the side with the most targets, but your team sucked, so now YOU are the target... RUN!  Oh wait...
- you picked the enemies weaker side, and now they are all dead, and you have nothing to shoot anymore, well...

Yes I rarely play randoms I play only ranked and Co-op and brawls when it is maximum 3 vs 3. you see I am person with disability and I have problems in hands so I am not good in aiming and avoiding shells and in randoms I usually die fast due my problems. so for me is less number of players I preform better.

He said low carry potential, not that the scores need to be bad
That score screen is not indicative of a carry, but rather close to a stomp.

Ohio will be quite OK in brawls, but you may find something like Kürfürst/Schlieffen/Preussen will be even better.
Ohio is quite accurate (well, it is still a BB... so not THAT accurate) but if you have aiming problems, maybe that will not help you.

Basically it is a Montana with less guns, but better accuracy so you will have the same hit rate (but hit harder, if you hit).
But also, like Montana, it depends A LOT on aiming correctly at the broadsides to get that enormous blap.
And, also like Montana... it is a huge target so they'll shoot at you for sure.

Have you tried DDs? In co-op, where the gameplay is "go fast and murder everything before somebody else does", a Paolo Yolo might be fun.
It has 3x4 torps, usually one-two loads are enough to whammy a BB. If you miss then send 4 more torps. Also it is really really fast so you are guaranteed to get there first.

You can keep the other load of torps for a cruiser or something (one torp does ~23K damage, so just distract the torpedo protection and that is what you get).

We'll try call in some help:

@lafeel you play a lot of co-op, which one do you think would be a good one for RP?

BTW respect to you sir, you are doing better than some players who have no handicap at all (except being total potater). :cap_like:

Paolo Yolo, definetly. Don't have a one myself, but have seen enough of them  causing mayhem in Co-Op to be sure it's well worth it.

I have one but I play randoms almost 100% (the rest is Clan Battles).

The problem in randoms is, you (or somebody) need to deal with the red DDs before you can harvest the fatties.

Unfortunately that is where Paolo Yolo is lacking, concealment is crappy and the guns, they hit hard, but slow reload.

Once the enemy Dds are dealt with, it is an absolute hoot. It is NOT suitable to perform the DD role. You can, but it is CRAP at that.

Which is why I have a low score with it, because very often I have to do it anyway... same as in IJN torpedo boats...

I can see it being ideal in co-op though, it really is "a murder yolo rocketship".
The way to play it:

- find a fatty, that has no hydro or radar;

- get to ~7.5km (it is best somebody else spots victim, or RUN RPF CAPTAIN SKILL);

- engage speedboost + smoke, you will spot enemy at 2km... or run RPF... the torp-indicator will show how to drop;

- dump torps on the white line... WHAMMOOO!! If you have to, finish the fatty with a few shots.

- after the kill, mope around behind the enemy shooting them on fire, then rinse and repeat:Smile_trollface:

RPF is a exceptionally useful skill. Now run it on *ALL* my dd captains that have the skill points for it (second t4 skill, behind CE/FB/More Range (only on the italians in the last case))

I've posted the replay (and a link that explains how you can watch old version replays) in the thread.

I ran out of reports in that match (yeah, I'm vindictive), that was one of the hardest carries in quite a while....

Basically blapping DDs is helping your team win and Gibraltar is very good at that.
