I wonder you guys just count the number of ships you get. If you are happy for any random ship, the containers are fine ofc. You can start calculating the ships "value" against the spent gold value then. But what are you doing with a douzend T5, T6 ships, if you already got another douzend ships on that tier??

That’s the point, you get a crapton of mid tier ships that you play once or twice in a year. The best ships are not in the Santa crates anymore. They are on the tech tree (including superships) and in the armory and can be grinded for free, or with accelerators.

If you are only after "best" ships. But i dont care about them. I only want 1, maybe 2 ships... and that main one is Alaska. Had 950k free exp when it was removed and since only got in game for black friday and santa crates trying to get it. No luck so far. Its playstyle that matters. No use getting OP ships that i would never even consider playing(CVs, subs, BBs, superships, and cruisers like Smolensk, Minotaur etc). Started playing game in CB and cruisers were my main target, Zao to be precise, but since cruisers gameplay has turned to crap and not many are capable of that old type of gameplay. So yea... one day ill get that Alaska! Or maybe if they add T10 Alaska clone to tech tree, coal or free xp... but till then, santa and black friday is the only way.

I fully agree with you, but without spending any dubloons or real money, I still get something more valuable to me from the Santa crates then the so called boosters or signals, which the most of us (including me) will get from the majority of the crates. 

 

I don't expect anything from WG, but any premium ship for free is a profit (or whatever you want to call it).

 

With regards with the "thousands" of T5/T6 ships I might have in my port: they both give 750 coal each just for playing them in Co-Op during this event.........

 

(and I do not own yet all port queens for coal).

I never talked about "thousands" of ships. If people are into T6 ships just for getting more out of the santa-mission, they could also do that with the already existing 35 tech tree T6 and the douzends of T6 premiums they already have. Then there are also the T5 ships etc. Not sure that is a pro crates argument. Also I am not sure, that after 30k matches you seriously are missing boosters, but that is not my cup of tea. I don't mind you buying crates and I don't mind people trying to find excuses for them when buying it. But calling that a great offer or something ... 

It is a just an &§$% move by WG, to make the chance to get a ship so low and then to throw a lot of "meh" ships at us with a much higher probability (within that small chance of getting a ship) and hiding all the treasures (incl. T6) in a rare group, which also includes not so great stuff.

From 11 Mega containers  I got 2 ships, T8 UK CV Indomitable which I willl not use, and T7 French cruiser Toulon, which MAYBE I will use once or twice.And the other rewards were crap, except for 2500 gold.

 

But at least I got 2 ships and no subsshit, even if one of them is a CV...

I don't remember how many I've opened so far but the best thing was a Poltava (tier 7 russian BB) and 2500 doubloons, all rest were camos and flags...

I've had some luck with these, but I don't feel like buying any of those "Christmas Gifts" because the chance of getting a crappy tier 5, 6, or 7 ship or valueless (and ugly) "camos" or credits is way too high.

Who said I am out of boosters? I was writing that in general the WG rewards in crates are signals and boosters, so any given premium ship from those crates do HAVE more value for me.

 

For the records, I do have all current regular tech tree ships as of Tier V up to and including Tier X (yes, also both submarine lines....), meaning that I do not have to buy any crates for money or dubloons anymore as I grind my way through snowflakes for additional free ships (coal/steel/research bureau) in easy mode.

 

Yes, WG has been reducing for the last couple of years the rewarding to its playerbase and hiding more and more behind a paywall (early access for example) so that is indeed a shitty move (like usual).

 

But try to read better and look in depth on a player when referring to its number of played games what kind of ships he has. You are clearly not at my league of port queens, looking at the ships you own (and that is no bragging!)

MEga crates are decent value IF one has very few ships and donesnt care all that much which they get OR if they hale almost all of them and KNOW which they will get

Nope, this is not how RNG works. Each draw is independant: you can throw 20 times a 6 faces dice, and never get a 6.

Yes, one can throw a d6 20-times and never see a six, but on average, you see will get a six 3.33 times.

3) Yukon VII tier premium ship + 10 points captain
