[HPF] Ocsimano18 Players 3,476 posts 13,949 battles Report post #1 Posted December 6, 2022 Reviews for the upcoming dockyard ship: Maltese Knight: Potato Quality: OverLordBou: Teamkrado (German): TLDR: Better than expected dockyard ship Can be fun when top tier, suffers when up-tiered Suffering on open maps Excellent (minimum) concealment, nearly identical to (maximum) secondary range Secondary modules are a must (sail Aegir/Carnot/Siegfried if you don't want a secondary build) Secondaries are usable Speed boost (15%) is fun German Hydro No torps No anti-sub planes, only has depth charges High arc, slow shell speed, akin to Alaska, not bad for damage Same armor as Aegir/Siegfried Battlecruiser 60 sec burn time Pen is ok at closer range German HE (good pen, low damage, moderate fire chance) Agir has better guns (better pen) Prinz Rupprecht is much better (torps, better secondaries, better armor, but in a BB slot) Napoli is better, but T10, and has no hydro or speed boost Not a must have/meta ship Blue version of the perma camo has the coolest look 5000 doubloons minimum starter package (4 levels)
[I-J-N] Karasu_Browarszky [I-J-N] Players 13,025 posts Report post #2 Posted December 6, 2022 Looked up the man behind the ship. Apparently this is Admiral Ludwig von Schröder, nicknamed the 'Lion of Flanders' which is where he was in command of infantry also taking part in the attack on the Dover Barrage. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludwig_von_Schröder Not to be confused with Admiral Schroeder who revised the USN Naval Regulations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Seaton_Schroeder
[NWP] Ubertron_X [NWP] Beta Tester 2,657 posts 25,756 battles Report post #3 Posted December 6, 2022 While I generally do appreciate the addition of non-instantly-exploding heavy cruisers to the game I am not very fond of Germany receiving their third sturdy T9 cruiser already, whereas nations like France (T8) or Italy (T8 & T9) are still waiting for their first. For example I can easily imagine an Algerie or Charles Martel type CA doing well within the BP event as well as in-game later.
[GOLF] _Vikingr_ Players 32 posts Report post #4 Posted December 6, 2022 I don't know. Admiral has the same guns characteristics as Aegir do. Spoiler And less DPM. Also you have just 4 guns forward next to 6 Aegir. To my point, Aegir is far away from the Chariot of the Gods. And now they propose us to buy (let's be honest) a ship that has worse guns than Aegir do. But what is the compensation? Yeah, better concealment and speed if boosted. And chance to make fireworks when enough range for secondaries. Aegir has torps, more DPM and more HP. So what Admiral can do? Endeavor better?

Was the armor change retracted or the CCs were not notified ?

I didn't dive into ballistics and pen. Accuracy is a key feature for me. I can handle crappy ballistics and pen, but I cannot agree to have a ship that cannot hit the target because of the accuracy

Funnily, Shroeder AP shells, have same pen and travel time as T3 Konig Albert BB 1

And Aegir has an extra gun, torpedoes, and a nice nordic camo I've bought. There are no secondary skills for cruisers, so a secondary cruiser is a pointless meme.

I find it 'funny' how something that supposedly gave us more options to tailor our captain builds, pretty much achieved the exact opposite. At least as far as I'm concerned.
