Apologies accepted. But you really don't need to waste your time and energy to verify anything in this regard. Much better if you could just kindly ask a coder/designer/whatever-they-are, to make a simple flag as I suggested above.

 

Come on, name any chat app you want... they all have emoticons representing almost all nations on this world. Shouldn't be that hard to make ones here too, so people proudly fly their national flag around if they want to.

Just to update on that, those national football T-shirts were made for World Cup 2018 and after that they were updated of the participants of EURO 2020.

The aurochs (bourul) which is a symbol of only Moldova is not a bull, it's a completely different animal. This is the first time I've ever seen the bull as a symbol of Romania and it's probably the worst representation of Romania in any game I've played. 

 

Personally I would rather not have anything at all than a half-assed effort which also misrepresents the country. I don't remember any other country getting this poor treatment.

To be fair, being a country not having their flag in the game to be mounted on ships does put Romania with the very large majority of nations. And I can see that it takes a bit of work to create a new flag, since it's going to be a moving part that will be always visible from all kinds of angles not just in port but battle as well.

 

I don't see why they couldn't have gotten some patch emblem actually representing their country though. We do have quite a number of them with a relation to various nations. I perfectly understand those often actually being reused from earlier events like the Finnish one currently and don't mind at all. As long as they have that connection.

 

The bull just doesn't have that. So I understand the disappointment and feel it is warranted. Even a simple emblem of just a waving Romanian flag would have been a lot better and should not take all that long to design.

Don't want to minimize the work behind a new flag, but can't refrain myself thinking that if that can be changed thru a mod, it could as well be implemented in game by just re-skining one of the existing flags. I'm pretty sure it's the way it works anyway, they're not creating a new flag from scratch when they want to add one. Something similar with the camos on a ship.

I'll freely admit that I don't know enough about things to judge that. I do know enough to realise that a moving part that can be looked at from different angles in different lighting conditions is more complicated than a simple 2D picture. But not much more.

The animations are done automatically by the game. All the flags are static images, no moving parts. It takes 10 minutes to copy-paste an image, resize it and then save it in the format required. That's also what it's necessary when modding the flags, with few extra steps because you have to mod the game. There are specific settings when you save it if you want it to look good from all sides.
