So the battlepass is on PTS !

WG please take your super aggressive monetization and stick it where your idiotic CV rework and Subs came from.

Disgusting and I for one will NOT be giving you ANY cash.

It would appear that greed and gluttony are WG standards.

Battlepass is optional, one can just ignore the paying aspect of it and it adds the benefit that one can buy in later should the wanted goal be reached... The concept of battlepass is not that bad per se esp if the daily logins are not needed to progress and its point based instead, its better then the current daily prize system in which if you miss couple there is no way to get the SC at the end anymore...

In general terms WOWS marketing guys obviously "graduated" on mobile games and they do what they know - they market shortcuts to ease frustration and daily/battlepass based morsel trickle to give stuff but not 2 much, just enough so players start to want the stuff and then go buy it in largery quantities...

I'm not pleased with subs, cvs, early access ships locked behind pay wall, consistent bugs that are not being fixed, the way WG treats community....... I'm not pleased with many things WG does. But battle pass is ok with me. You don't want to pay? Ok, don't pay. Nothing changes for those that are playing WOWS as a F2P game. But if whales want to pump even more money into WOWS, let them. I don't care.

Could battle pass be more generous? Probably, yeah. But like I said, it doesn't bother me at all.

We can compare things and each of us can come to its own conclusion.  My already stands, the BP is beyond bad.

First things first, BP replaces the current daily/weekly missions. We get slightly more coal, RB & steel. But lose an estimated amount of 25M worth of flags, also boosters become way less common.  This is another hit on the credit economy. Further details on Reddit I will just repeat this, the amount of flags we used to get, will gone.  Boosters, will be greys.

It gets worse, the progress will be linked two 2 mission chains. With the battlepass it will be four. We might not finish this without the BP.

There are 2 layers of BP, we got a regualr and premium, super whale one.

The current reward in the end is the upcoming tech tree, tier VII IJN cruiser (afaik). I just want to remind you, that we used to get super awesome premiums like Benham from events, Tier 9 Premiums. At some point weegee shifted to tier 6-7 premiums, like London/Dido. Later they went into perma camos or now boosters for upcoming tech tree ships. Now even these are hidden behind a paywall. Another nerf.

The BP is just worse than expected.

So far until now Dockyard used to be WG's version of a battle pass and it was very nice in practice. I hope WG doesn't try replacing dockyards. Otherwise the "it doesn't affect you" argument goes out the window.

Also I think dismissing the red flags as "you don't have to get it" is just lazy. Did the christmas scam affect you until you bought some? Did the CC exodus give you guys some kind of a disadvantage? Saving Transylvania as an event is still an event, so because it exists and gives some rewards are we not to criticize WG for doing a lackluster event?

You better believe this battlepass is going to be permanent and it's going to suck.

That same thing was said during the economy rework. And now we get much less economy boosters than previously.

So the free stuff will get nerfed, thanks for the confirmation.

And here's proof:

Battlepass (in the free version) is a huge nerv on the rewards as you can see.

This has nothing to do with the promise, the players would get all the rewards as with the daily, weekly and monthly missions.

Battlepass "issue" Is blown out of proportion. From the start wows was waaay too generous for a F2P game. Over the years we got so many good free stuff, it's ridiculous. Just compare it to WOT, where you even loose credits if you play anything above tier 6.

Obviously WG is losing profit on WOWS since player numbers are dwindling. I just wish they address the issue of why they are losing money instead on more ways to milk the player base.

Or maybe battle pass is just WG way of drawing our attention away from subs. :Smile_sceptic:

This is not relevant since the battlepass is done on a patch basis, not a monthly basis. So while patches generally are around a month, the fact that some months are longer/shorter is not relevant in this case.

we will have to see for the specifics of this, but what you get should in any case not be lower than previously.

Will check what happens if a patch lasts 5 months instead of the usual 4.
Though my guess is that the missions will continue as usual and if you completed the battlepass already you will continue to receive the compensation for additional BP points.

Fair seas captain!

Even Sera confirmd only yesterday just some hours before the yesterday stream: What we get should in any case not be lower then previously!

Well, it IS much much lower, as we can see at the moment.

This may bei correct. There are indeed lots of free stuff.

But the problem is that WG announced that there will be no nervs. In the regarding DevBlog, in the newsarticle, even see Seras post...WG promised before players would get all the free rewards they got until now with the daily, weekly and montly missions.

That is not correct.

Hard to judge the battle pass without really knowing what you'd need to do to complete it. Currently I'm always able to complete the monthly mission chain before the month ends, but no clue if the Battle Pass is any harder to complete.

I might decide to spend doubloons on purchasing the premium pass once I've completed the free chain, so at least I know what I'm getting for my money.

None of which is related to BP as a mechanic m8, WG will be WG and ofc always looks to give less when they change something, then again they are doing what certains CCs were demanding for years and got supported by many members of forum - give less free stuff… Well here it is folks, hope you enjoy, oh wait all of you already jumped ship to some other game, nevermind

Obviously not everything is final yet, however from what I saw in Flamu's video the 3 levels of battle pass seem really excessive. Playing both WoT and WarThunder occasionally I am quite experienced with the concept of battle passes, so in the end the real value of the WoWs battle pass will lie in its output. And just for comparison: WoT battle pass is something around 23 Euros (best done with real money), WoWs premium battle pass clocks in at around 6250 doubloons, which should be somewhere around 21 Euros, WarThunder's premium battle pass is around 16 to 17 Euros,

Does it look like grinding will become slower without BP, and high tier games less sustainable without some form of premium, either ship or account?

If the PTS rewards are final, economy (credits, flags, boosters) will be nerfed a lot again.

Hello,

Looks to me like because of the decline in the player base numbers, most likely due to submarines, they are ramping up the monetisation in order to reclaim any lost revenue.
