No player is forced to spend money on this ship. If they cannot wait, and are willing to pay cash for it, then that is their choice. Nothing is forced here.

Patience (of a mere 2 weeks) is a virtue.

It's psychological game. And I think this will be the case with coal ships from now on.

Might as well offer new steel ships for limited time doubloons sale. WG is selling steel anyway, dockyard; Xmas containers and upcoming BS pass.

Except you have to work for it to get it.

If they re-release old  DYs I don't think we will ge able to buy them out simply to get the t9 - t8 equivelant of steel.

I was thinking yesterday, would I buy a steel ship for 35,000 doubloons. I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t.  But someone will.

The price might be a lot more than that though!

Has it really been every tier ten coal ship since Napoli?

I suppose it is the new status quo.

Sherman, Alvaro de Banan for sure were doubloons first, coal later. I'm not certain if it was the case with Immelmann, as well Kearsage/Marco Yolo/Carrot/Tulsa, I guess digging out old articles on news page would be in order for that.

There are more than a few ARP Yamato around, so there are always players willing to pay though the nose for exclusive ships.

The days of automatically assume steel ship players must be good are long gone (I'm bad with steel ships, so I know).

No Need to  do that. Looks like Napoli was the changing point. I think Immelmann was only released for coal but could be wrong.

I believe tier9 9s were mostly released for coal and doubloons at the same time.

Apart from Dalian and G. Verdi of course, for those truly elite ships you need to pay real money:cap_fainting:

When Napoli came out it was for coal and dubs in the same time. Now you have to wait for the coal option 2 weeks. And it appeared first time with Alvaro de Bazan. A ship that not much people wanted anyway, so it was ignored.

It is as announced in the article: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/sales-and-events/armory-0119-malta/

Keep in mind, that Wiki is being updated by players, so some information can be slightly incorrect and it is not the official source of that kind of information.

I had a 300k 3000 baseXP game and lost threee karma.

Deserved though. These things are terrible For the game.

I just played in a game where we spawned in, Malta flew up, spotted the Harbin that spawned with me, and dropped it twice from the same flight of bomber planes, dead.

Can someone from WG explain how this game was fun and enjoyable for this player? What was he supposed to do? He spent less than 1 1/2 minutes alive. He didn't get detonated, all he got to do, was press W four times, A, S, and D a few times, and he shot down two planes. He didn't even see an enemy ship on the map, let alone within range of his guns.

I understand he could also be dev struck from a bb or other cruiser just as well, however in those situations, he has a choice to take the fight, to stay hidden or manovour. With this CV, please, WG explain what he was supposed to do.

The reason for asking, the same thing happened to me in a Minotaur when a Malta dropped bombs on me. I thought it was just bad luck, but now this. Maybe this ship is a little OP?

He probably needs to find new and exiting ways to interact with the Malta for improved fun and engagement.

The /s is implied.

Yes, those bombs are very strong against light cruisers, Roons and Hindenburg.

I wonder if giving them a minotaur-like fuse would fix this issue?

I'm not looking forward to encountering one in my Colbert.
