IIRC the very first "Ranked Sprint" (before the ranked rework and unification of separate Ranked Seasons and Ranked Sprint game modes in 2021) was tier 5.

We'd also love to hear whether you prefer single tier across all leagues or something more similar to this, where there is tier progression through the leagues.

There are a lot of try-hards with their Kami, Giulio and Gremy (and most of them are very bad, so I understand their desperate ship choice), but otherwise... I like it for several reasons:

 

1) Your counterplay is never restricted to "O".

2) Your counterplay is never restricted to "G" or DCP.

3) A lot of players skipped low tiers and clearly have no idea of the ships and their capabilities, which provides much joy to those who have.

4) Regardless of the results, you do always make a profit.

 

Currently, this is the best mode in WoWs because it lacks the worst content (air attacks, submarines, superships).

Gonna reply as I did in the other thread:

T5 ranked so far has been the worst tier I ever experienced ranked in.
It's a complete shitshow - DDs are dying left and and half of those played are kamikaze, cruisers get blown up if anyone as much as looks at them, and BBs, especially Agincourts and GCs, just completely dominate the scene.

I just gotta laugh when people complain that T10 is imbalanced.
T10 ranked is a f*cking e-sport compared to this garbage pile.

This season highlights what I've been saying for years - mid tiers are unplayable, especially for the cruiser/BB interaction.
Shorter ranges blow up cruisers, who otherwise also struggle with everything overmatching them, they have no heal, they can't really pressure BBs with any meaningful dpm due to low fire chance and shatters, and they have no proper tools to support their DDs (radar etc.).
BBs on the other hand overmatch their targets, are reasonably accurate, need less lead than at high tiers, and can somewhat reliably just blow up their targets or at least score some very hard hitting full pens.
They also get a heal, and as long as they WASD a little bit, torps are not an issue at all because of the lower number of torps, short ranges and low speed (kami somewhat excluded).

Broken a** crap that I might just take a break from the game over, it's a total potato fiesta atm.

This season was a huge mistake.

If I don't enjoy T5, I gotta play T6/7, where you guys at WG just sold players a ton of Belfasts.
As a DD player, Belfast is absolute cancer to play against, and I absolutely hate that tier.

I love T10, but this season you included superships as well there.
Seeing as there is no star saving in gold league, why the f*ck would I even play T10 there?
I'd just be putting myself at a severe disadvantage, and even if I scored decently well (the one saving grace for playing a lower tier ship), it doesn't matter anyway because I'd still lose a star.
So essentially, play supership at gold league or go home, because you aren't doing yourself any favour by playing a T10 against ships that are around T11-12 in their power level.
You only get less battle influence out of it, but nothing in return for it.
(And no, I'm not saying you should necessarily reinstitute "save a star" in gold. What I'm saying is, superships shouldn't be playing with T10s)

My favorite season so far. T5 is really fun. Cruisers are kinda squishy, but accuracy of BBs is lower and more reallistic, so gets to be quite balanced

Cruisers are kinda useless, is what they are.
So far I've been noting that in the majority of games (about 15-16/20 games or so), cruisers are dead last on both teams, while BBs generally take the top spots.

Only in one game did I see a single cruiser coming on top.

BBs are way too strong at this tier.

I liked t5 brawls and I liked the ine game I played so far (covid currently has me, so barely played this week as i get tired fast). Nice to try a different tier and very nice to not have to play boring t10.

At least it's not T10 again, that got boring. But i have to say, there are sooooo many idiots playing bronze right now. It's hard to find the energy to rank up.

I vote for single league. But than again, why would I care anymore about Ranked since they are so painful to play these days.

I'm enjoying it because I think that the balance across the board is pretty consistent.

 

If you're good, you can dominate.

 

If you're crap, you can't.

 

There are a lot of Kamis, Fujins and GCs about, but even they slip up often enough to get blapped.  

 

No firebugs,  no cvs, no subs, no radar.

 

Whats not to like?
