Looks like WG stopped with the gambling and went back with a slightly different twist on the dockyard.

I suppose that most of their sells were of people getting the ships or economic bonuses at their first roll, thus driving down the average money spent per ship sold.

Can't have that. Now, if you want the ship, you gotta spend at least X amount of doubloons. No other choice.

 

Expecting a serious price tag on that battle pass. 30k, maybe? Probably with a "sale" on the first week, like with dockyards.

(Edit: Ok maybe 10-15k?)

 

They're not giving details, but I suppose that the Japanese Tokens you get for free will only get you to tier VII. Further than that and you'll need to buy them, maybe earn them via the battle pass?

 

So yeah, I'm speculating quite a bit, but it looks like we'll be getting the same as usual, with a different coat of paint.

(Japanese cruisers coming in a little bit more than a month. Not quite sure they'll be ready and balanced by then...)

I think Pay to Rico with doubloons-only progress would be around 45-50k doubloons with other 39 toys before, so this would be on similar level.

I was thinking 45-50k too, but not for the same reasons. I lowered to 30k, out of positivity and hopefulness, and not be too much of a drama queen.

 

Tokachi is tier VII, not tier X. It's already "worth" around 9k. A tier X would be something around 20-25k easily, if not a bit more, I think.

 

Right now, if I complete all the missions for the PR, I'd have to pay 10 500 dubs for the whole chain (less if I had bought the "discounted" packages). In a way it's "not much" for a tier X premium ship, a tier VII premium, and all the other goodies you get in between. However, to get there at this price, you need to complete pretty grindy missions, play a lot. WG needs our money, but it needs us to play their game as well.

 

The way I understand this battle pass thing is, since the free one rewards us the usual things we get from the current daily, weekly and monthly missions, it won't require us to play more than usual.

Since they won't entice us to play more, they will have to entice us to pay more to compensate.

 

On the other hand, they did say that there will be a new one with each update. I can't see them requesting us to pay for 30k each month, let alone 50k...

 

...Soooo maybe 10k would be more reasonable? I would buy the Tokachi at this price...

The WoT BP has multiple tiers:

 

-Small add on for 9€ that gives a unique crew member and some small extras.

-Full pass for all the stages for 23.90€.

-Full pass + daily goals for 39.99€ - as full pass plus a mission for 30days that gives 250 gold once a day for a game in randoms.

 

We can expect the WoWS version to be similar in price but with less rewards per stage. The WoT pass gives you a reward for every stage no matter if paid or not. The screen above shows how miserly the WoWS team is.

Oh. I didn't notice that ship is tier 7 and not 10.

Actually tier 9 value was around 35k doubloons, so its much more than your opinion of TX for 25k.

I would never pay for some passes, especially in weegee game. And them asking us for spending more money but in meantime adding idiotic new stuff into this game that makes playing TX battles nightmare is crazy.

For 10 bucks you can get a tier V. A tier IX ship is 19 300 dubs in the armory. You're off by a slight margin.

I compared the price of tier IX and tier X coal ships, and extrapolated that for doubloons. But I know that it might not be a good method, or that i counted wrong...

i never though WG will go Blizzard way, Diablo way, and mobile game way.

 

This is just a great marketing trick where if you buy premium bundle it forces you to play daily so you dont lose what you payed, great trick!

Is it worth it? depends on the price.

10 euros, sure why not, but above that I dont think its worth it since you will force yourself to play daily even when you dont want to play, and this will make more games worse,since a lot of people will grind these rewards.

Ah, publicly speculating about the price pre-release reminds me of the speculation between Hayate and Smaland's announcement and release. A good way to gauge the very upper limit of what value people attach to the product and then release it at a slightly higher cost.

Battle pass is the main way FTP games monetise. For example both COD warzone, and Apex Legends, two top tier PvP games are absolutely free to play, you can buy the season pass as your way of kicking coin to the devs, the pass you get lets you unlock COSMETICS, different skins for characters and weapons etc. You gain Zero advantage over a FTP player, unlike in WOWs where buying yourself power over others is inbuilt into the economy in the form of flags, and previously camos, OP by design boats locked in gamble boxes, etc etc. Pay to win is at the centre of War Gambling's monetisation strat. Mode 1: All ships, but No Carriers

Mode 2: All ships, but No submarines

Mode 3: All ships, but No CV's and No submarines

Mode 4: No Arms Race mode

Mode 5: No Radar ships and No Hydro ships.

Mode 6: No Battleships only

Mode 7: No Cruisers only

Mode 8: No Destroyers only

Mode 9: Submarines only mode

Mode 10: Carrier vs Carrier only mode

Mode 11: Submarines and Carrier only mode

 

There, WG.  You now have an incredible way to earn and boost your profits and your end of year/quarter bonuses.

I don't see Steel, Research B, Recruitment points on that rewards list.  Unless WG gets 'smart' and finds a way to nerf earning to boost this new wallet opener.
