Project Kostromitinov is one of the most interesting, yet least known of all the carrier projects. It's a study of Leutenant Kostromitinov, who studied the concept of German carrier Graf Zeppelin. The design bears similarities to the german projectalbeit it's much larger, 300m full lenght and over 50 000 tons full load displacement.

8 AA 100mm.
4 quad AA 37mm (range Ver - 5km,160-180 shots/sec).
20 AA 12.7mm HMGs.
Aircraft:
10 recon-bomber aircraft
20 fighters.
Project 71 emerged soon after soviets introduced carriers into their naval building program in 1938.

Project 72

Armor
Belt 90mm.
Deck 30mm+(50-80)mm.
Armament
6 or 8 dual AA 130mm.
4 dual and 8 single AA 85mm.
12 dual AA 37mm.
24 dual AA 23mm.
Aircraft
62 planes.
Project 72 was studied in 1944-45 and in most sources it is mentioned at least two variants of this project, one showed here with displacement and size of roughly the same as UK Illusrious class and another one considerably larger with approx. 62 aircrafts and diplacement of over 30 000 tons.

Project 69AV

Project 69AV dates imidiate post-war era, 1945-46 when it was studied wheter the incomplete heavy cruiser pr.69 Kronstad could be able to modified as a aircraft carrier.

Armament:

In service: 1918. Used to fight with White Movement.

Komsomolec

Aircraft:
26 fighters
16 ground attack
Armament:
16-102 mm
10-40 mm
She was a former training ship but her fitting out as a aircraft carrier was never realized.

Izmail

Aircraft:
12 torpedobombers
12 fighters
6 scouts
5 special-purpose aircraft
Armament:
8 180mm
8 102mm
The Soviet Navy proposed in 1925 to convert Izmail, the ship closest to completion, to an aircraft carrier, but the plan was cancelled after political maneuvering by the Red Army led to funding not being available.

Hm I just don`t know how soviet CV tech tree can be made. They are realy short on carriers.

Why are more of the Soviet aircraft carriers called Object?

Project, because Soviets  hasn't got CV's (to 1967) but much projects.

nice topic, good u took all CV in 1 place. Problem with soviet tech tree will be that they are all projects... (exept few that ware build)

I had doubts to Commune. The Soviets called it : красный авианосец (red CV)
