Karma Grief

So i just lost 3 karma (6reports) from a successful game, we won and i was literally top on my team by a long margin - I didn't talk to anyone it was just a really good game so i suspect it was some raging enemy that couldn't kill me or something.. Anyway I have no problem with these people spamming their 'report player' to drain my karma for no apparent reason - if that's what they chose to do... just wondering if it's possible to at least get notified on exactly who is doing the 'report player' so we can return the favour?

I'm also curious how many other people have had to put up with these random karma attack that are literally unprovoked.

My 1st time posting here just thought it would be a good idea. Cheers.

Not entirely - the more karma you have, the more people you can report!

I thought they changed it so everyone gets same number of reports regardless of karma?

Reports are useless. End of story, ignore it and play your game.
The worst thing it can lead too is "chat ban" for a certain amount of time. Which is probably for the best, if you can't say anything constructive.
And NO, don't think for 1 minute anyone cares what you think or believe - nor that you have solid advice.

If people would know who gave them negative karma they would start insulting each other, harass them in their port and so on. Bad idea.

Also it could have been team members if they think you stole them some kills or just thought you played bad, or not how they wanted you to play.

Just ignore your karma for good.

Short version

Just ignore them.

Long version :)

Not so long ago, somebody reported me for cheating. He even opened chat after battle to tell me, and I asked him why, since I did not cheat (never found the reason why people cheat...you're not better because you defeat other guys with superior tools).

So I asked him why? :

- You reload too quickly for a BB that not possible, 10sec.

- Ok mate, it's a JB, and it has MBRB, no cheat there....

- Nah not possible, JB has 26sec reload and MBRB is like 50% so 13sec. you cheated.

- but with 6th module JB has 22.9s. MRBR is 50% but you also add Adrenaline Rush. Which is boosted with Honoré. So with 30% HP left, it's 70*0.25=-17.5%. 22.9-17.5% = 18.9s with 50% more from MBRB...here are your 10sec reload...

-....yeah...but....you overmatched me and it's not possible! (he had a goliath)

-  euh....ok....Let me check the details of the game. 11shells in the structure for 10k damage mate. That's barely overpens...

All in all, he wrongly accused me of 2 things that I perfectly explained to him...he never admitted he was wrong, he never apologised.

Truth is, this game is full of no life fueled by hate who will jump of the first opportunity to report you or yell at you. Just ignore them.

Just a little thing about the post. Being on top of the team just means you did the most damage, it doesn't mean you did Faaaak all for your team to win. A Yamato sitting on the 10 line all game blapping ships and getting 150 K Damage can be nr.1 on the team without ever doing anything to support the team and contributing to the team win. Its just damage farming, maybe this was situation like this?!

I often report stooopid cants that hug the map borders in epi center or 3 cap dom mode, does it matter one bit...no! They are still clueless, just one report richer.

1. Why do you even bother explaining your genuine point of view to a random dude who offended you? (I mean no offense, just asking)

2. Your statement "Just ignore them" is imho a contradiction to your previous behaviour.

Regard it as a badge of honour! Karma means nothing - I have been accused of cheating a few times - usually because the other player is new and did not understand upgrades. On the occasions I have been contacted, a polite explanation seems to work when a pleasant and friendly tone is engaged.

You could just ignore it or start seeing a report in a different way. My first time i scored a solo warrior i gained 1 compliment and 4 reports for a total of -3. So what happened? Five people recognized my deeds but four of them disliked the outcome. Thats it, nothing more to it. Accept that you dont get praised and move on.

Or, to play the devil's advocate, you blinded your team by smoking up and not spotting, didn't cap even though the enemy DD and radar cruisers had been killed, forcing your CL into capping who subsequently died there. Then you proceeded to sail the J line, ineffectually torping ships out of range and the only thing of note you did the whole game was being the last man standing on your team when the clock ran out.

Yes, one of your mates might appreciate that you've won. The others hate your guts for making it so hard on them.

But mostly you're right. I mean, as long as you can report the players who killed you...

Just to further prove my point:

This happens practically every game, and I play CV most of the time.
Some will hate me (the majority of the community), and some will love me - my winning team. ;)

It cancels eachother out, it means nothing - Ignore it and just focus on your own performance.

This is probably the best advice in this topic so far

Who cares about karma? I'm hovering between -10 and +10 for 6 years. I suspect it's all griefer who report me for my excellent strategic superbrain and it has totally nothing to do with me calling my teammates potatoes, apes and worse than a co-op bot, all the time. I swear, only griefer in this game. :Smile_hiding:

I hear ya! although I'm pretty sure its not just based on damage. Caps, spotting, your tier and ship type is taken into consideration I believe - If I'm t8 dd and destroy 2 full t10 dds that should be more xp than killing a single t8 bb, for example.

Also in my situation i was in a dd and literally carried my team so I'm most certain it was an enemy player, but of course not guaranteed in a game where anyone can report you for absolutely anything 😁

Anyway, thanks all for the responses, it seems that we wont ever get to see our accusers and karma does nothing anyway. Since there's nothing to learn from karma- good or bad, shouldn't it just be removed entirely? 🤔

Yes it probably should

There is a mod that disables karma. So you can check that out if it helps

There are people here that would report Shakespeare for not putting pictures in his works.

You will not be informed who reported you exactly to prevent this kind of revenge reporting.

A lot of players were reported for being "too good". You're neither the first nor will you be the last. Wear it as a badge of honor.

Lmao it is usually a DD or a CV, so it was a 50/50. But to tell you what happened. I played Indomitable, scored the current #12 spot in terms of max damage on the EU server with 241k in that game. I even got a video

That's not it. I was just saying that there are many reasons why one could get reports and commendations in the same match.

Also playing CV and losing karma? How did you notice? Not by the total changing from zero, right?
