Emphasis on there was. It's over since about half an hour and for reasons the information about it is gone. If you still got problems try and restart the client including the launcher. I'm not sure if'ts down to the time of day or something, but it's related to DNS or routing, because some VPN locations let you log in while others do not. To my knowledge, there's no fix you can do at your end. Or, if there is, I have no knowledge of it. Would be interesting to hear on official WG response to the issue.
