If you rotate a map 180 degrees, top will now be south. So now South will win 51.8% of the time. 

 

How does this balance it. You turn a can upside down, does that not make it a can anymore. What is this lunacy. Serously.

If that's a joke then I will be impressed, it's a degree of humour long since gone from WG.

I don't believe it though and I suspect not many others will either.

Ok, ok, ok... so hear me out. I know I'm absolutely mega dumb, but, but, but...

 

Man, I need to make some calculations here, and will probably embarrass myself, but...

 

Doesn't... *smoke starts coming out of the ears because of the brain overworking* rotating the ocean map 180 degrees result in... *hair sets on fire because of the heat* the exact same map? So what's changing exactly?

 

I am so confused, please send help.

So... could we now, because of such a situation, have two maps, Ocean and Naeco (oh, sorry, uɐǝɔO would be more proper) instead? That would be interesting, you know, because it's the kind of content the forumites have been so vocal about...

 

On a more serious note, maybe, just maybe, it's a matter of not perfectly mirrored spawns or cap zones, which wouldn't be surprising: remember that long ago in Two Brothers, domination mode, at first no caps were owned but IIRC the northern spawn reached and took B before the southern spawn could do the same with C. Or it could be pure subliminal psychology (north-top/south-bottom) like the Bouba/Kiki effect. If the latter were the case, rotating the map would solve nothing, but I guess only The Spreadsheet™ has the final say.

I thought WG was all about incremental changes, so why not start by rotating 10° and see if this has an impact?

I mean, you guys can't even follow your own balancing strategy ...

This is not balans. Now the other side will win more often statistically.

The map should have been turned 90 degrees. THAT would even things out.

It is, the 1.8% is just a statistical margin as it would be impossible to have a 50/50.

Guys hey guys, but they are too busy with pumping out new premiums, new super duper acradey super ships and ofc subs. Werent these what we (community) have been asking for years?(!) Besides, they gave us a brand new ocean map. just stop complaining and be thankful to WG. OK? 

 

Give to the devs a big well done from us @YabbaCoe and @Seraphice, would you? Who would have thought rotating the map 180° would solve the problems. Devs proved once more that they are people with big brains. Long live the wows devs!
