   mini map

                                          how big will it get? :Smile_popcorn: can we make it smaller again? :Smile_facepalm: Is there a setting to make it smaller? :Smile_hiding:

Press the +- keys on your numpad. Altough I don't know why you would want to make it smaller, the second largest minimap setting is what I use and that is extremely comfortable.

There are also additional settings like transparency for the minimap, which is helpful to see if anything happens behind the bigger minimap.

You can access those by holding CTRL and clicking the little cog above the minimap.

Agreed: on 1080p the second largest size is probably the optimal (maybe sub-optimal but one-size-fits-all enough good) for all classes with a ~50% alpha (transparency), or the third largest for smaller screen resolutions. The largest size interferes too much with the direct view, although it's useful for aiming at no-LoS targets during cyclones. Also activating last known locations and ship names gives much required info.

 

OTOH, range circles are useful but not that mandatory (I have all of them on, though) while the rotating minimap is a headache that screws my sense of positioning. The fixed one lets me signal things better, be it by pinging or chat messaging.
