U.S. Independence Day celebrations, the return of Convoy, a new map, and a whole lot more!

Read it on the portal

Are we going to hear news about the next CB season soon? If it will feature CVs or not?
Please, do not allow subs in Clan Battles.

Who cares about independence day in Britain… this is exactly what we meant about no celebration during jubilee, but suffocated by american and chinese new year rubbish.

In fairness to WG, there is a UK-themed event coming up -- a dockyard competition (but without Devonport or Portsmouth).

To celebrate the birthday of Peter the Great, the following items have been added to the game:

  • Commander Pyotr Velikiy with a special voiceover
  • The Imperial Standard of Peter the Great and Imperial Monogram of Peter the Great patches

Why are we celebrating a Russian nationalist icon that has no connection to early 20th Century naval warfare?

This is in incredibly bad taste, seeing what is happening right now in the world.

PS: This shows clearly that the separation between Lesta and WG is a sham.

A bit late for April Fool's innit?

As we discussed in a recent QnA session, the Ocean map has a 51.8% win rate for the team spawning at the top of the map. To balance the map, it has been rotated 180 degrees.

So @Karasu_Hidesuke , that's why you like the Ocean map - you've been spawning on the top side all along. :Smile-_tongue:

Reduced the timer for forced surfacing when a submarine's dive capacity is depleted. This reduces the submarines' ability to hide underwater after having exhausted their resources.

So this means they cannot hide for 95 percent of the battle and you can actually harm them now, right?

ooooh... whoopdedoo

Though that reminded me of something else... in fairness to WG in terms of Dockyards, or rather Habours: it is kinda hilarious that there are 3 Russian habours (Noworossiysk, Saint Petersburg, Kronstadt)

For comparison:

2 American (Hawaii and NY, but none of the actual naval bases)

1 German: Hamburg (No Wilhelmshaven etc.)

1 Brit: London (No Scapa Flow etc.)

1 Japan, not counting the anime stuff: Kure

French and Italians, 1 Each

Scapa Flow would probably look quite boring as, IIRC, there wasn't a great deal of infrastructure there.

Given the great work the art dept has done with the Clydebank dockyard, that would make a good port.

I just realised Wiki has no article on the actual ports we have in the game...

How many of them are military bases, how many are commercial ports, and how many are something else, such as anime... I'll have to check in game.

Naval Bases/Yards

Hawaii

Kronstadt

Kure

Naval Base (fictional; location unknown)

Novorossiysk

Sarushima Base (anime; Sarushima Island is actually part of the Yokosuka Navy Yard)

Ports/Harbors

Dunkirk

Fjords (albeit a very minor harbor)

Hamburg

London

Marseille

New York

Rotterdam

Philippines (location unknown)

Zipangu (possibly based on Shimizu Port)

Special Ports

Azur Lane Dorm

Designer's Table

Dragon

Ocean

Spaceport

St. Petersburg (while St. Petersburg has a port it's not on the Neva next to the Winter Palace, and the Admiralty Shipyards are about 2 kms to the west at the river mouth)

Not everyone wants a port that is cluttered and claustrophobic. Plus, boring is subjective.

Scapa would be great as a mostly open port/roadstead, with maybe some small easter eggs. Like the sunk German High Seas Fleet wrecks, the Scapa distillery building, maybe a few Home Fleet ships. And some nice calming music with bagpipes.

So I have right and San Diego was made to milk murricafags who buy anything with murrica attached. Never awaited for another Atlanta clone so not interested but I sense big milking on NA - neutral,

Convoy - liked first iteration so I wait for second too. Even with subs as convoy seems to be infinitely better mode for this type than other modes - hyped,

Personal challenges - happy as Coal farm is always nice - hyped,

Buff of US slow battleships split - never was fan of such line due to their speed but it's ok I think - ok,

Peter the Great as commander - boy oh boy, considering actual situation I strongly suspect crapstorm which can easily exceed 12 in scale of Beaufort :Smile_trollface: Popcorn is ready :Smile_trollface:  - hyped AF to see "show"

dziwny-pan-ze-stocka-2.jpg

Transformers collab - not interested but if they allow to finish collection FOR FREE I'm very ok with this

True, Fjords is a favourite of mine which is hardly a bustling hive of industrial activity.

Well... Peter The Great is the father of the Russian Navy.  I guess it's as relevant as the Swedish Chef Captain we got recently.

There's an odd statue of him in Deptford to commemorate his visit to the shipyards there in the C17th.

Repair of 50% citadel damage on US second line BBs is waaay too much.

If you show your broadside for slappin', you should live with consequences.

..or give cruisers the same heal as well.

Mostly agreed, apart from the high seas fleet wreckage. Apart from, as mentioned in another post, it would make it look quite sad, I would also prefer for it to look quite "neutral" (time-wise), as in you can't properly tell what time it is set in, WW1, WW2 or anything in between.
