Why Canarias uses both incorrect shell weight and incorrect shell velocity?

Title

Ingame, Canarias is listed as using the 256lb AP (AP shell weights 85kg ingame) with a muzzle velocity of 814 m/s.

However, according to NavalWeapons link here, the weight for AP is 116.12KG, with a muzzle velocity of 885 m/s. Why is that??

The ship is all about it's AP and frankly, is not enough. Why is it this way? How can WG claim they follow the history while having this pretty significant discrepancy??

Because Wargaming bends and breaks the ship to match planned gameplay, instead adjusting planned gameplay to the ship. Historical "flavor" is gone from the game for quite a few years by now, or rather, "it is allowed to exist" as long as it doesn't interfere with planned gameplay. And WG planned Canarias (and Dido) to be mediocre premium ship handed out for free in the event, thus she was balanced around price of free.

The moment WG decides to give battleship grade penetration to a 76mm gun, players WILL get destroyer/corvette armed with 76mm gun punching holes in battleships, logic and balancing be damned.

Canarias has AP with improved ricochet angles and short fuse time, which makes it very effective against lightly armoured targets - giving it a higher muzzle velocity would probably diminish the ship's efficacy as it would result in more overpenetrations (the shell having travelled further through the opponent's ship before exploding). A heavier shell weight and charge would probably result in more base damage which would probably be *too* effective. Apparently WG have tweaked other soft stats, though, so what you get in-game is close enough to the basic original gun performance while still giving "national flavour".

I had hoped for more damage and a flatter shell arc imo. Less damage than other 203mm, 180 and Nuren 150s is a freaking joke, and you lack all things except the AP.

Plus, if the enemy angles, you are toast. You either bounce or do very little, even with a full salvo.

Yes, I found that as well. Lots of people tell me that speed is the key to this ship so that you work the appropriate angles, but I think it's another ship WG have balanced around potential max damage in specific circumstances which might not turn up. Those aren't my favourites, tbh, I prefer ships with versatility.
