Do you think RPF (Radio Location) should ALWAYS work against subs, regardless of whether they are submerged or not?

  1. 1. Currently, Radio Location is all but useless against subs, even though it is a very expensive skill and there is no logical reason why it wouldn't work against a submerged submarine.

RPF has sense in emulating observation radar that just gives bearing to the contact and aprox range and not precise data about it, radar consumable is more like targeting radar… I know they dont work quite like that irl even in ww2 but its a game after all

That's my point. If RL works at all in this magical WG universe - and I don't have a problem with that - then it should work on subs as well. There is no logical reason why it shouldn't because logic plays ZERO role in this mechanic.

RPF is such a lowlife skill that it should be removed completely

By that metric, every skill is a lowlife skill. Using anything other than stock is lowlife. Equipping modules is for lowlives. Flags? Lowlives. Camo? Now THAT is really lowlife! Having a captain on your ship is the very epitome of lowlife.

Because... subs don't hide behind the island like all the other ships? :Smile_unsure:

So radar can penetrate massive kilometer wide rocky islands but not 20 meters of water? As can Radio Location?

Must be due to some atmospheric anomaly, perhaps, and er.. mito.. chlorines in the water too?  :cap_yes::fish_book:

What a rant....

I certainly hit a nerve there!

RPF is nothing but nubcrutches.

That is a very liberal and generous interpretation of what Radio Location might be bases in-game. So as long as we're being so generous, it should then also work on subs.

Just as liberal is gunnery in this game:cap_tea:

Do you use Concealment Expert on any ship? Aiming Mod 1? Fire Prevention Expert?

You're a hypcrite mate. And yeah, kinda sensitive to those.

BB gunnery, certainly. 😄

Obviously, achieving 30%+ hit rate comparable to IRL 3-5% is preposterous

If hydro does not do its designed job then RPF can.  Plane And Simple. Subs are toxic and it is chasing me off of the game.

Thankfully, so is 3% to 30% because the difference is down to a zero which has no value. :Smile_glasses:
