:Smile_great: Avoid as much you can the digital stuff. Or the "modern" editions...

Depends on the effect. Digital Distortion, Fuzz and Overdrive = not that great. Digital Delay and Reverb = :fish_cute_2:. And there are so many astonishing pedal makers about these days, it's unbelievable. Companies like JHS are off-the-scale good compared to what was around back in the day. But I do have some vintage things I bought back in the 80s which go for hundreds of pounds on Reverb... and no-one's getting their mitts on those.

Well yes but it is good to keep in mind that "modern" stuff ( that includes components) is designed around and with much tighter tolerances in mind , hence  less.... "gorgeousness". Arguably 80's and early 90's stuff still fall into that category.

Sound engineer, bass  and keyboard player here:).

Maybe somebody is sad they didn't insure the cruiser Moskva... and WG is now investigating if they should start insuring cruisers in WoWS aswell.

After all, lots of cruisers get sunk, and not just the radar cruiser Moskva.

I read through the survey and no amount of mental gymnastics made me see how this is relevant to WoWs besides datamining.

Oh, people from the trade.

So, what kind of synths and keyboards do you got? I am no good at bass. I am so bad that I once talked business with Nathan East and later had to ask a colleague if that guy is a well known bass player. Oh my...

So, let's see: many people asking WG in streams during whole last year and also in this year people asking about possibility of collab with star wars or at least with star trek... And instead of that people get possibility of WG collab with insurance company??!!! :cap_fainting::Smile_facepalm:

When will they start advertising booze and women? Not that I would have any surplus money left because I have already been donating for "special military aid" on a Czech website.

Well... l'm kinda retired so... Tho in the past had to deal with all sorts of em. :) In this region the likes of DX11/21/27/V50/TX's  (tho not the DX7) and  also the Kawai K's were well liked because of their "percussivness". I had a friend who loved Kurzweil's but I wasn't a fan. For "scifi" stuff it was insanely good  but it had a distinct sound  ( meaning that a piano wasn't a  piano it was a Kurzweil piano:) ) which I didn't like.

I used to be a Roland guy thru and thru  ( I even wrote some stuff which made it into some of their arranger keyboards) but lately they suck donkey ballz :( They did something very wrong to their DA stages and now all sound like thin frakkin toilet paper sadly :( I would say that KORG is the deal, nowadays.

Btw good story :)

Easily done. So many great session players, you've heard them play but people don't recognise them! Certainly not one of them myself but it is my area of work....

My synths are mostly modules - Novation, Waldorf, Modal, IK Multimedia. I have a controller keyboard for them and I just plug in whatever I feel like playing. Software stuff is nice but I've never quite got my head around playing while working a mouse or a touchscreen!

I got the insurance survey, raising revenue by selling your data? Needless to say I shut the window down whilst ignoring said survey. In my mind I find it a bit pathetic and a sign of the times that they think it's appropriate.

I am no expert but this sounds like a gross GDPR violation to me.

WG is not allowed to gather data that is not related to their business (i.e. the only reason for collecting this data is to sell it on to third parties, and that is illegal as far as I know, but again I'm no expert).

Also, when I was hear some song, after little time just by hearing and trying on my sinth - I was able to play them. I was love my Yamaha and her soft sound. That was around 10-15 years ago. Then I need stop with music. Still mising that tho.

1.) It is totally ok to talk about music in this thread. If WG goes off-topic by selling insurances then who are they to accuse anybody for going off-topic, right?

2.) Sad to hear that you needed to stop. It happened to me, too. Due to my job I had to park my whole home studio at friends' places for several years.

3:) What's  @Europizza's jam?

Maybe you and @invicta2012 can start a band to accompany the sinking of WG, like the band did on the Titanic?

In the meantime I do see more players having musical experience, so the band could be a fact now.....

Same question - is that violation to GDPR?

edit: also I am not expert.
