We have discussed them before. I think the only way they could work is if they were very fast but squishy, had powerful (but short range) torps in limited numbers and a multiple, but limited number of respawns in the game (rather like aircraft groups in RTS CVs). That respawn concept might be game breaking for some, of course.

Yep, which is completely ridiculous, particularly when they're on the run with full side to enemy tanks and everyone ricochets on them in a row. Then they magically disappear behind a bush and repeat their shenanigans again until you're slamming your mouse on your keyboard with frustration while spitting on your screen throwing away unholy curses at unspoken demons and deities not known to man~~ (I really hate wheeled vehicles)

Yes but without the respawn just give a players a large group 12 boats when they are gone it's over.

It might be possible to use a CV type "squad" mechanic but the important thing is that the E-boats don't become a persistent source of torpedo spam, otherwise we'd just be repeating CV rework mistakes. Re-spawn is supposed to slow things down a bit.

Easy to solve just lets the player return to reload the torps from a certain point/base then you can even create a new mission destroy the snelboat bases :)
