OMG what a turd Tulsa is......

Tulsa is a downtiered balanced Des Moines. Amazing ship that can play aggressively and absolutely dominate games. 

Better concealment gives you ability to push any nook and cranny to get the advantage. Super Heavy AP american shells, great dpm, better accuracy than DM and Salem guns. Smaller ship overall which makes it a bit harder to hit. She is also a great PR farm. 

 

Every other problem is somewhere between the monitor and the chair.

Agreed.

Somehow I can make it work and quite enjoy my Tulsing.

Play it like DM/Salem and all will be fine (read as: use AP much)

Great DPM? It's less than Buffalo, which also has a way better alpha. 

Better accuracy? In practice it's the same, although in theory it's WORSE than DM or Salem, not better.

Right now Salem worst problems in game are ASW (lack of range). If you are only radar cruiser in team, everyone demanding because of radar range you go close so you can actually use radar. Next thing you will see - subs torps and endless ping without possibility to defend yourself or many times even detect sub... That is my expirience in game (have Salem about half year).

 

EDIT: very rare are match in which you can count on your's team that they will help you to dealing with sub.

The dpm is great if used correctly. Not everything is in numbers. 

 

I never had problems with tulsa, played quite a few games in her. Was averaging a bit less than 2k bxp per game in her. Sometimes I even prefer her over salem just cuz of its concealment. 

 

But I guess every1 in this thread just wants to blame the ship instead of actually understanding what its good at

It's not about problems. It's about: is she worth it.

And of course, there's always there's always some self-proclaimed magician who can make any turd work.

Not saying it's a good ship, I don't know, don't have it, but know people who play it, Tulsa is a smaller target, more agile, better angles, and can apply 2/3 of its guns bow-in instead of 2/4. People I know who play it prefer it over Buffalo

That might be it, or maybe it is like, some great craftsmen can make a statue just using a chainsaw.

Doesn't mean it is a great, fantastic and suitable tool for the job.

:) I not gonna say that I'm the next best thing to Davy Jones, however..... to me is a turd.  Like I said I brought it for ranked. For that...its tools are just too limited. It is too situational and given the current state of the game , let alone ranked...... yeah... Island parking and killz of opportunity may work in randoms, but in ranked..... you have to do stuff. One cannot presume that can wait for the team to do the lifting. Many times you have to turn around things and.....like I said.

 

On the other hand, indeed I don't play US CA's very often, so there's that. Still....its dispersion can be very trollish at times and with 4 guns... I can't afford that.

Absolutely :). There are people who swear for the Tiger and yet....well is a demanding ship. Also many times teammates start bitching about the Neptune and later....:change their opinion :) Who knows maybe it will grow on me later. I didn't liked the IJN cruisers and yet now Ibuki is a fav so... :)

I quite like Dido, which most people say is absolutely crap. 

And Colombo... seems to be the worst T10 BB but hey it seems to fit my playstyle.

In this case, its quite like I said. Because if it really was a turd even I wouldnt be able to do anything with it. Objectively, its a good ship, it isnt exceptional in the tier full of broken premiums. And since many people mention ranked in this thread, its quite stronger in that setting rather than randoms against superships.
