Yeah, I love DM and Anapolis (and even Buffalo), but I was NEVER gonna get this one, not even for coal. 6 guns, nerfed reload, nerfed range, nerfed radar, and all that at only 1 tier lower. She's inferior to Buffalo in every way that matters.

I always look around for quite a bit. So far, no disappointment. 

Some turn out to be less fun than I thought, but none really suck.

I brought it for ranked purposes, both current and upcoming. I said how bad it can be?  The range problem is less relevant so.....But  the thing is in ranked one needs to do..... stuff. All sorts of it. And while probably can be an all-rounder in randoms.......carry potential, in ranked, has none.

 

Tho you have a point, coz I'm not that familiar with US CA's..

The little I'm familiar with, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. Most, if not all, have those terrible 'over the moon' firing arcs.

Well yeah. I always look at LWM (Little White Mouse) reviews, then a few Youtube vids. 

Ask a few clanmates (we do have some that are whaling... they buy everything...).

I am quite familiar with them, also will not get a premium of something I am NOt familiar with. 

Most of them are glass cannons. Depends mostly how much cannon and how much glass. 

Some are just shite, some are bearable some are quite good - in the right circumstances. 

It just depends on MM, and your own talent, if you can "create" those circumstances. 

 

Des Moines has great cannons, not so much glass. I have Salem, and that's good, so DM will be fine. 

Worcester HAD great cannons, but always was lots of glass. I can play Seattle, even in CB, but Wooster.... 

Result - I will not buy Tulsa... nor will I get Austin -  too flimsy - though I did get Plymouth, Napoli, Smolensk, Flint... and will get Wichita.

All, actually. It is an "aquired taste". It is more like spraying something than actually shooting. 

But if you know how to do it (and the map/team is suitable) then you can really rain hell on all sorts. 

 

Some of them (Wooster... looking at YOU there...) are just too flimsy AND to unwieldy for me though.

IMO there is a fine balance between YAY or HELL NOOO.

Sure they can create a good hail but it depends too much on team spotting for you. 

And there's the thing... and if the team doesn't spot, you are screwed. 

Because at those tiers anything and everything (and you get uptiered a lot) can kill you off.

That's a problem for me, at least, overall when it comes to cruiser play. You see nothing, but everyone sees you. Till there's nothing to see, that is.

Well, not really. With some you can take a peek, or a gamble, and live to shoot some more. 

Or at least be quick enough to evade half of what they shoot at you, or bounce it. 

And some others seem magnetic to citadels, like they rather had been a submarine.

The DM guns, though quite good, are not the greatest asset. 

The best is that it doesn't get blapped straight up by everything.

Sort of she is... New Orleans guns on a plus sized Helena hull. Nimble, decent range, lots of consumable options, but she's not as durable or as hard-hitting as Baltimore.
