Play subs, I dare you. I'm a solid zero and would be a -100 by now if that was possible. it feels like playing a lot of Ops aided in the karma increase though I do recall losing a decent amount of karma when the Sub Operation was active - so maybe it is a thing

That's the hard mode - If you then still manage to get more karma than you lose, then you've won the internet.

What a sad, frustrated, apparently traumatized and pathetic (part of the) player base .... At least in Randoms there's sometimes appreciation, long term tendency is up. Co-op has turned a bit toxic since the introduction of subs. Before then, the only time I got reported is when I deserved it, eg friendly fire incidents. Now, you'll often get reported just because you performed better than someone else. Operations are still fairly grown up - team mates will often compliment you for a good performance. Last night I divved up with 3 other clan mates for a few ops matches and gained a couple of karma from the other guys on the team.
[R7S] lovelacebeer Players 4,158 posts 25,223 battles Report post #111 Posted June 22 Out of curiosity those of you loosing karma consistently, do you feel its as a result of regularly playing certain ship classes like submarines & CVs or a general trend of increased negativity within the playerbase? Speaking for myself I am well aware of the general volatility in karma ie play too well your just as likely to be reported as complimented, but that's always been the case. Also with the ability to play with a ship again the second you die and therefore people not watching to the end means you don't get the kind of positive feedback when you dragged your team kicking and screaming to a win. Still that hasn't overly increased how often I'm reported just decreased the positive karma for any battles I carry.

Player base negativity, no doubt; as I don't play subs nor CVs.

Still on a positive trend though, for I only reached 2k by the introduction of the 0.12 patch cycle. Funny thing, I've recovered today the 5 karma points I lost yesterday. Aside from not having been a particularly good day on my behalf gameplay-wise, my guess is that people were simply way saltier because they were doing a last ditch effort grinding things. On a normal day I wouldn't have had such a loss. Salute.

I find I lost more karma playing too well in PvE, coop/operations than randoms/ranked, where I just gain it for playing well (or lose it for playing subs.... average around -0.5 karma per game?). Im at 520 I think ATM.

I don't lose karma consistently, but when I do, it's usually due to : - dealing too much damage in an Operation - bringing "the wrong ship" in Operations - bringing Emilio or one of the FR DDs into Coop - killing an enemy in Randoms (either by them or by an ally who feels that you stole "his kill") - not supporting a potato in Randoms - (rarely) playing a CV or Submarine I would say that, in general, reports are more due to players' negativity - even though some are clearly based on the ship (class) you're playing. The average player is (very) bad and they cope by using their reports.

My personal favourite is when I sink a division and my karma drops by the exact same number as that in the division, that’s when you know you played too well.

I disagree about ops though. Players there tend to realize that you have to do well to have a chance of victory and you'll often be complemented for a good performance. Only once of have I been reported for playing well as I finished off a lot of ships that were softened up by a guy in a Mogami, IIRC. He came first, but only had something like two kills. I was a close second with many more. But, I've slowly crawled up to a new benchmark.
