Still in the game of course, improved dispersion, burst fire modes... Alongside Super CVs with 300knt jets, the plan for Support CVs for whom they first planned stun bombs which block the usage of equipment and DCP... Luckily they skipped that idea because of the sh*tstorm. List goes in and on.

mmh sounds great. game keeps getting even more arcadey. stun bombers would be another "awesome" addition on this path.

btw. I wouldnt be so sure about this "awesome" idea of stun bombs getting canceled. remember NTC? naval traning center and the shtstorm with it? WG "canceled" the idea. instead they introduced RB (research bureau)... WG said once, ships with rapid HE shooting guns and smoke are not fun to play against. thats why they took HE away from british light cruiser line. guess what they did next? yes, they introduced smolensk.

WG is very talented at creating new sh.t with different color. So, these bombs are surely going to make it into live server sometime. maybe not with the name "stun bombs" but with an other name and slightly different than the orginal idea. but the main concept will surely be the same.

It is all possible. Whatever WG might be famous for, not sticking to their words and promises and an awesome art department take the top two ranks for sure.

It was used as an example to explain the tendency of WG.

Back then, when the cvs rework, they removed semi manual AA control and replaced it with a totally automatized one but then add this manually controlled aiming system for a thing you cannot see. Propaply we will end with an automatized ASW in the submarines rework in two years.

Nostradamus out.

Or even worse. They'll give subs the same immunity when attacking as planes. Subs are invulnerable when they have torps in the water. :cap_fainting:

@YabbaCoe maybe you should call Igor the developer and tell him to give this guy a medal. Igor is going to love this idea for sure.

oh also you might want to add the idea of supersubs with another super duper arcadey gimmick like "paralyzer torps". once you eat one of these kinda of torps, you wont be able to stear or turn your turrets or torp launchers for several minutes because your entire crew just got temporarily paralyzed. (you might add RNG factor to this. like time might vary between 1 mins - 3 mins)

this kind of weapon would definitely help the wg's cause of making the game the most acadey game out there

*edit*

@Seraphice, wazzup?

What is this? When I commented on the problem of visibility (of the pinging sub)  I never dreamed of this *edit*. That's how is intended to place subs in KOTS?? Or in clan battles?

Hello everyone

Please keep in mind that this is the PTS and things are still subject to change.

We are keeping a close eye on the new ping interaction and submarines in general.

Thanks for replaying. On the other hand, I have to note, the previous experience suggest  that things which appear on PTS make their way into live. Hopefully this time will be different......

Right, but the direction the developers are thinking in is already enough. Who really thinks this could work in a 12v12 battle? This is mind blowing.

Let's hope that it doesn't have to be tested by the general public in randoms and just hope that the submarines will hopefully finally disappear again.

Please keep an even closer eye on Flamu´s YouTube channel since he seems to do a lot more testing of your game and the mechanics then you do.

Same with us, but unlike you we have to do that whilst perma spotted by planes, avoiding overmatching AP shells, and swerving from HE spammers. :cap_rambo:

We performed extensive testing of this new mechanic last week as a community team.
I assure you we are looking at this mechanic.

To come up with such a mechanic is bonkers in the first place.
To test it you need to literally take few minutes, but most importantly to experience the sumbarine "special balancing operation" just play few randoms and get anywhere near the sub to understand the pinging/dodging/spotting is completely broken and is driving people insane.
Its not the "approximate few kilometer radius" the problem here, and this "new mechanic" wont fix anything.

You need some fresh ideas im sure we can come up with a few, so your testing can be a little bit more productive than watching random water splashing.

Extensive testing? :Smile_teethhappy:

Tell us, did you have fun while trying to guess where sub is?

Anyone else notice that one of Flamu's depth charge hits, in the 2nd match, was a result of the sub player TELLING him where he was and nothing to do with the ping indication.

People lets remember that those we are interacting with, are not those who make these kind of decisions......

Then please tell us, what is your result of the test? What is the opinion of the community team?

Indeed. And also lets remember that it isn't the fault of the guy that actually coded this, but a deliberate decision by someone higher up the food chain.

The coder will have been assigned this project, assessed on whether the implementation met the design requirements in the time allocated to do it.

As a retired programmer, I remember several "ideas" that I was glad I did not have to implement.

Either because they got canned (because it was a bad idea and unusually common sense prevailed) or, more likely, some other poor sod got lumbered with it.

Kinda surprised this actually got as far as the PTS server as internal QA should have flagged this up as garbage within minutes.

Having said that, the sceptic in me probably sees this as a WG false flag : you guys think subs are broken now? THIS is how broken they could be.

Then, if this proposal is withdrawn, WG can claim to be "listening to feedback". :Smile_sceptic:

Look, I know you're here paid to face all the community rants for all devs in charge and do your best to try to convince everyone that they care and are looking into this awful mess they are pushing, but it's getting to the point where pretending so feels insulting since everyone knows they don't and no one buys all the predetermined nice responses, because it's sad that we're already tired of them.

Someone needs to get through the devs skulls that subs are a failed project and give up on them already instead of destroying the circle peg trying to ram a square through it (said circle being the entire game in this case).
