Well, you preferably don't. Aegir is a bad ship imho. Just enough armor to arm every AP shell in existence, turtleback that doesn't work at any range, cannot angle, horrible gun performance... I don't see a redeeming factor other than the fact that it looks nice, which is a trait of pretty much all of the german ships

Somehow mine actually provides results, despite being clearly inferior to Alaska. Siegfried on other hand... :cap_fainting:

You're asking about druids that have great stats at wows-numbers.com, but I can't make work, no matter how hard I druid? Ships that I can never win games with, but only druid? I have to druid hard about this question. It's not as druid as it seems at first glance. Such as ship would have to have stats that are looking good on druid, but in game, it truly druids a**. Maybe a ship from the druid shop that has guns, but only has AP shells - no HE, no SAP and certainly no druids. No, sorry. I can't think of any druid like that.

Nelson. A ship I really like. It looks odd, but has some appeal. Great guns. Super heal. You can burn things. You can AP poor hapless cruisers. And after 200 (!) games - yes, I do like the ship - my Nelson still has solid orange stats. Tried different playstyles. I can sink first, I can sink last but somehow I can't make her win ...

I got a far better understanding of the game now than I used to when I first got it. But frick my brain still to pepega to not overextend early and die

Nice thread ressurection. Druid works for me, btw, like a charm.

 

The ship I dearly love and have hilarious engagements with, spectacular moves leaving multiple enemies in my wake after a single attack is the vaunted

It's fun! It's fast! You can see the BBs peeing their pants when you rush them in your hypersonic smoke cloud (when they aren't distracted in sniper view), you can blap DDs for half their health in a single salvo.

 

But most of the time, I just overextend and die way to early. The most successful games are those where I don't torp rush anyone, the threat alone keeps all the BBs away, but thats just... boring.

The PA line is just horrendous 80%+ of the time. I want to git gud with Jinan, I really do, but it's the single most frustrating playstyle I've encountered. You can't reasonably do much of anything until the enemy DDs are dead because you have cruiser concealment but effective HP way less than a DD. If there are USSR radars, you have to avoid them. If the enemy DDs win out over yours, you're mostly useless. You can't flank, you can't sit in smoke, you can't kite because the guns are almost unusable beyond 11km, you can't tank, you can't torp because they get spotted by the DDs, you can't do anything other than get spotted and shot at. And even when you get to torp BBs, the meta favors German ones with hydro. Getting into any other cruiser line or premium feels like such a relief after that.

I levelled the British light cruisers first. Not something I recommend, that is a steep and brutal learning curve that came with some atrocious win rates as you hit T6 and up. 

 

But Ive got so used to really low concealment and high mobility that even going to other trees is challenging. I got the coal german BB, decked it out for secondaries and my god its slow and cumbersome. Its so acute I don't even like the T10 Daring because it has a higher detection range than the Jutland at T9.

Got similar but mine doesn’t make sense to me:

- I’m Terrible in Jutland but good in Daring

- Kitakaze is one of my best ships but I’m bloody awful in Harugumo

I'm no expert and there is little I can say,

  • I always burn a torp Reload booster at the start of the match, with flags and cmdr perks the booster loads quicker than the torps and I've never need it near the end of the game (you get to surprise CAs that don't expect Torps yet)
  • Hunt the DDs early match (RPF is a must for me)
  • Early match I always hold my fire until I'm about to be detected (or already detected)
  • Don't HE spam BBs until all/close by Red DDs/Radar CAs are sunk
  • Don't smoke up first, always plan to turn away from a red ship, then if they chase smoke.

But like I say I try the same with the Harugumo and it suddenly doesn't work

Good points. I don't know why kita doesn't work for me... It worked well when it had 5,9 (5,8?) detection range and the nerf to 6,1 made a significant change in the playstyle i think. But I can agree that it was op before... But it should not make that much of a difference. It might be that I am too aggressive and too eager to use the dpm. I will try your advices! Thank you!

I run my Kita with this build:

I play it primarily around caps where I can either support another DD or if the situation allows it cap myself. The 6.1 km detection is not *that* bad all things considered, so you can often contest better than most people think (be careful around those 5.5 km detection DD's). And once a cap is secure you use that gunpower, if not secure start engaging until you have pushed whatever support away if possible. I prefer IFHE because in that MM bracket 32 mm plating is fairly common so the damage output can be great, but again it can be down to personal preference.

 

I recommend picking super intendent over BFT (I know it's called main battery and AA specialist but that is such a mouthful) because the extra smoke can net you more damage from safe farming and also prolong your life if you need to disengage.

 

Kita is still pretty OP because the only downside is literally having like 200 m higher detection than the average cap contestor at that tier.

There are 2 of this type:

  • Hindenburg, I like it i do pretty well in it just somehow it only works in ranked  & not in randoms.
  • Georgia, sometimes it is really fun & i do great in it ... but other times the 457s just troll me and i end up overextended due to the speed buff and 2nd guns.
