Hi all,

 

Next ranked (May 18th to July 12th = 2 updates and will be divided into 4 Sprints, each lasting 2 weeks) - battles in all leagues will take place in a 6 vs. 6 format on Tier VIII and IX ships

by making it easier to retain your stars in bronze it has just become even easier for plebs to get into silver and thus into gold where they can turbo farm their way to all the gold rewards with 10% wr's.

 

For the love of Poseidon: MAKE IT SO THAT PEOPLE CAN DROP OUT OF LEAGUES.

Interesting new mechanics for saving stars tested. 

 

The number of stars required to reach Rank 1 will be revised so that the number of battles required to reach it, on average, does not change

 

In WG speak "adjusted" or "revised" stands for "it will require even more grind":Smile_sceptic:

No, really, no point of playing rank for rank 1, just win battles, get rewards and stop. Brainless mode that has nothing to do with name Ranked,

All the whining about saving the star has removed it in gold…

 

Now it will take ages to rank out and when you get the rewardgrinders and griefers on your team, you will be even more punished as you can’t even save the star…

 

I can’t belive the this… Those smucks who think ranked will be better have ruined it. Ranked has finally become randoms 2.0.

To put this in numbers:


This means: with 66% WR it will take 3 games to gain a star... atleast!  effectively increasing games to be needed to rank out A LOT!

 

66,7% wr will now take 96 games to finish Gold

 

..if u have 60% wr in Gold it means u need 160 games to rank out

 

55% wr needs 320 games to rank out

 

52,5% wr guys will need a whooping 640 games lol

 

 

To calculate this:

I had 73% wr last rank sprint. Did it in 52 games... my best so far... With no save star I would have needed 70 games instead of 52 games....

That is 18 more games...if the WR stayed at 73%...

Effectively that is 1-2 more days playing

 

Ranked is dead! Long live RANDOMS 2.0!!!!

Nah, none of them need more than 29 games (presently) for the rewards.

 

Playing for R1 stopped making sense after they changed the format so you don't need R1 for the main steel and doubloon rewards.

The current R1 crates have a 0,00001 % chance to give coal and otherwise contain only insulting garbage.

 

If WG stay true to form they would need to reduce the amount of stars needed to reach R1 gold and increase them for bronze while silver stays the same.

We shall see.

the ranked tokens is what has kept me going as the satisfaction to just rank out. the other stuff is meh… after the new ranked came, you get 64% less steel from time spent in ranked. I calculated it before

strange , how changing the easier league will affect the more harder league ...

as a rank 1 in gold , i can say that it doesn't matter , if you really think you are pro and other noobs , then must be no problems to carry neither to fight noobs ...

If they want the current way of distributing prizes WG needs to remove the saving stars rule on any league and rank, also no safe places in any league and one qualifies for going up and staying in league if one drops down 2 much, if you fail to pass qual for staying in say silver back to bronze it is...

 

If they want everyone to get SOMETHING for playing there are the winning matches prizes and they can hand some small participation stuff at the end of sprint and/or season

 

So to not over complicate it - one automatically gets ONE star if their team won and additional stars go for the first 3 people by base XP overall, weather they are in the winning or the losing team so ie the star gain looks like this

 

      Win             Lose

1   1850 (**)    1450 (*)

2   1550 (**)     950 (-1 *)

3   1300 (*)       650 (-1 *)

4   1100 (*)       500 (-1 *)

5   1000 (*)       450 (-1 *)

6    950  (*)       150 (-1 *)

 

That way the accent is on individual performance, something Rank is supposed to be about :Smile_sceptic:

 

After they try out the general principle they can fine tune the stuff as much as they think is needed by the number of wins for the prizes and stars needed to rank out

Well.... all the valid criticism has been already covered. Still I should add two things: still no qualification rounds  into ranked itself, and i have mixed feelings about the lack(?) of tier separation.

I know where you're coming from mate. Played for R1 untill they revamped the reward system to constant sprints too.

But ranked is still fun even after I gave up the chase. Think of it as PTS for better rewards, and with fewer obnoxious teammates to carry compared to randoms.


Reward-wise a lot of variables have been changed by WG, but overall it's not quite as bad when I run the numbers (below):

I get an almost identical doubloon reward per game played (4% reduction) while steel rewards are down to 54% of previous. 

As compensation, the rewards can be obtained far more reliably (depend on wins rather than R1) and it is possible to gain a greater total amount of rewards than before, if willing to grind it out.

 

Currently you can get:

27 wins, Gold:                     1000 steel and 800 doubloons 

18 wins Silver (incl R1):     800 (1000) steel 400 (600) doubloons

12 wins Bronze incl R1:     600 (800) steel 200 (400) doubloons

 

Doing just the calculation for gold league with 60% winrate, you get 27 wins in ~45 games. 

Old ranked required about 100-150 games to rank out depending on amount of stars saved. Rewards were 2500 doubloons, 5500 steel. It also lasted at least 6-8 weeks, not 2 weeks.

Using 135 games average for old ranked = 3x 45 games (27 wins) in new ranked then you earn:  3000 steel (previous 5500) and 2400 doubloons (previous 2500). 

 

Assuming you dont go for R1 gold and rush into gold immediately 1st sprint the max possible rewards, it is also possible to earn twice the doubloons and 20% more steel than old ranked would allow.

Steel: 5x1000 +1000 + 800 = 6800 steel

Doubloons: 5x800 + 600 + 400 = 5000 doubloons.

No. T10 is the most boring ranked. 

 

I love the T5-T9 ranked seasons and often stay some time in the lower tiers to enjoy it before moving up to get more steel. 

 

I would love ranked with bronze T8+9, silver T6+7 and gold T5.
