Enterprise is still the strongest followed closely by Shoukaku, in my opinion Lexington being slightly behind. Those are currently the 3 strongest. Chlalov is a meme that can be strong against potatoes but decent players can shrug off most of her strikes

Depends what player is behind the wheel. On average Chkalov and Kaga dominate WR/damage comparisons according to proships.

I'd take Shokaku when I have a decent division. It farms the hardest.

Kaga or Lexi when a not-so-decent division, but I do not have Enty.

Chkalov can farm hard but has no influence, all it does is just spam spam spam.

Dont check them via those. Shoukaku will automatically look weak in comparison because of its massive skillfloor. Kaga in comparison is far far easier to play.

If we talk about power it's the 3 I mentioned. If it's after ease of play and okay results nearly all t8 CVs would qualify

Let me tell you a DolphinPrincess story:

Back before the skill rework DolphinPrincess posted a Grozovoi guide, tailored around his skill level. The effects were tragic, people without PM and SE in their Grozos getting ganked.

Why? Because the guide was tailored for super unicums. The average root vegetable did not have the skill to play it accordingly.

So unless @Puffin_ is a super unicum CV player, their experience in the Shokaku will be diametrically different than yours.

PS: Proships has Shokaku at second place after Enty among superunicums. That's 23 and 21 players for each ship. Compared to 1940 Chkalov players and 2516 Kaga players in total.

Depends really.

if the enemy is spread out then the Hornet can dominate the field but if they are clustered together then you lose your planes rather quickly.

Shokaku is not that difficult, it just needs "target selection". Also needs plane management.

This (to me) does mean that there are certain targets you cannot or MUST NOT attack.

So, if you end up in a T10 game, and there is a naaassty Halland, I leave that Halland be in Shokek, while in Kaga or Lexi I'll just attack him if needed.

Because in Shokek I'd bleed planes. Maybe better players can get that Halland, I certainly cannot do it. I can maybe scratch him a bit.

But yes I can keep him spotted - which is why I need a divvy of capable players, who will at least shoot him. No use playing solo.

He specifically asked which CV is the best, not which is the best for him though. I'm just answering his question. But if he asked me which CV to pick I would still recommend Shoukaku because if you learn how the most difficult ship works you learn how all of them works

Thank You

Depends what defines strongest for you...

Best damage, best carry potential, ease of play vs effort involved...

Anyway E is still strong i most aspects, she is also still unavailable so meh...

Shok has good carry potential due to AP bombs and their ability to take out key cruisers/bbs fast, I guess Hornet can work as well being kinda "baby E"

Kaga and Chkalov are good for farming damage with comparatively small effort involved

This is wrong because what makes E so strong is to have very maneuverable rockets and many of them with fast recovery which are easy to use and hit hard. Hornet doesn't have that. So Hornet is because of that alone one of the least influential ships and very limited in target selection

I got mine last year from a Christmas crate. If you are lucky or want to burn a lot of money she is available, at least once a year :Smile_hiding:

Enterprise remains the most powerful T8 CV by far and in extension one of the most, if not outright the most broken ship in the game. The only thing that has changed is that she is no longer as easy to play as before.

Its not, you are mistaken. It requires more skill to use after the rocket change but that's about it

It requires more.... "skill" to play with the rocket change? Damn it.

Enterprise is still the best even after all these years. Rockets have changed but that's it actually for her.

It's not just skill, the enemy DD can more easily reduce the amount of damage they take even if you play perfectly. It has also been hit by several accross the board AP nerfs.  It feels much worse than it did.

Let's just say that there is still much that you can improve on and if you do then she will feel more than powerful enough to you

Well, maybe that is why I like Kaga. I never use rockets if I can help it.

Just finished another Kaga game tonight, torpedoes all the way, finished off a DD with bombs.

I do not even NEED the rockets, and that was a T10 game. Never ran out of torps... AT ALL.
