Well...she IS unique in terms of looks, and also gameplay somewhat. And she was a real ship, built in steel.

But she was a relatively cheap freemium for about 4 years, so most collectors probably have her already, I reckon.

 

I think some people are definitely going to put 25k dubs on her, but she'll probably go for closer to 20, unless only very few winners are selected.

I mean...the Schlieffen went for 25k, and that's a tech tree ship...but also a Tier 10 and a sailing meme.

Nelson was a great ship when tier 7 was a great tier.

It struggles when bottom tier.

Was a bargain for freeXp but i'm expecting 12000 doubloons or more.  I don't think it's worth that much.

Isn't this a bit crazy, WG have the perfect chance here to offer a cut and paste ship and call it Rodney, one could have had Radar, the other a spotting plane to distinguish them, lack of HMS Rodney to  me is a serious omission from the game when you have the Mushashi/Yamato, Bismarck/Tirpitz, Scharnhorst/Gneisenua

Nelson was originally available for 375000 FreeXP, quite reasonable at the time.

Sometime last year she was withdrawn (when 0.10.5 was released).

And yes, she's not most robust battleship in the game.

I can't remember whose YT video it was, but they demonstrated that the stern armour is better than the bow.

So if you can angle away from the enemy, and fire the guns "over the shoulder" it's quite a bit more effective.

 

I was surprised when Nelson, and Graf Spee, were removed for being "over popular". They weren't that common a sight in battle.

Not at all surprised it has made a come back ... for cash (doubloons).

And probably only a matter of time before Spee, Alaska, JB & Georgia also come under the hammer too.

The Nelson play very similar to the top tier RN BBs , the armor is a joke, but you got the SUPERHEAL to cover for it. Also keep in mind that Nelsons bow can get overmatched by 406mm or larger guns. And the all around 32mm deck will take HE dmg from basically any cruiser with a 203mm. But the Heal and the guns make the ship a pretty decent one.

Well....I have her on both my accounts, so........

 

She was good when Narai and certainly helped to train Rn caps. But there other more fun ships to play now (Strass, Weimar, KM BC) so......yeah ....

It depends on the number of ships. I guess most veterans have her (I do). One thing too keep in mind about the doubloon cost is the birthday coupon 100% cashback (well 99,92 %). I bought a large number of doubloons to pay for this years events probably beyond. If you put the Nelson as a regular T7 premium today but have bought the doubloons at half prize roughly, the prize would land maybe in the 15.000 doubloons region, not that I think it is enough to win , but to translate Nelsons cost with discounted doubloons to T7 Premiums with real money. Do I think Nelson is worth 15.000 doubloons or so? Well if I did not have Nelson I might have been ready to pay 15-20K. Now one can compare it with other premiums for nominal prizes in doubloons but there are so many paperships among these. Nelson is a quirky and ugly ship but a design with many interesting features.

Fat Nelse is a great deal of fun, and I think anyone collection minded would probably want the ship. I'd say 20K+ winning bid?

I rather like Nelson for Narai (I try and avoid getting Battleship Cooties against real people); I can't imagine she's worth paying over the odds for though, unless superships indirectly relieve the MM pressures on T7...
