Have not played for long time, is WG still killing game with submarines?

I probably will not return even if there are no more submarines, don't really want to play this game at all (been playing from open beta, quit when subs came out), however i am just curious to see if WG devs are still trying to destroy this product with furious determination, with product features that about 80% of player base hate...

Yup, game still getting hit hard with subs. Inability to admit error or change course is defining trait of the WOWs dev team.

Interesting. Not caring about almighty overwatch that can spot all over the map in 30 seconds, can permaspot other ships, that doesn't care about obstacles, can shoot from every direction, that has no counterplay against it and that can do all that without any risk involved camping in the back of the map. (CVs)

 

But DO caring about a slow [edited]ship taking half the match to get somewhere, with its only gimmick to dive under water for a short while, which takes hours to recharge, and has slightly homing torpedoes, but gets destroyef when looking at it. 

 

I understand that subs are nasty if you come across them 1 v 1, but at least subs risk something getting close to you. If they F up, they are dead. The only time a CV can F up that kills him is if he either stays in place when the enemy rotates to your starting zone or if the CV captain actively sails towards the enemy team and plows through it. Plus CVs are a meanace for every part of the map for the whole 20 minutes if not caught. Subs can only do something to ships in its vicinity and take a long time to get to the other side of the map.

CVs are in the game. Subs are not. It's easier to petition WG not to introduce something broken (and boring).

WG won't be happy though, they have to keep replacing their overworked and worn-out shredders.

I tried the new submarines ....
they are very slow (25 ????), torps do 7k of damage ???? absurd....
they have very few torps and they recharge in an infinite time ....
for me absolutely to be eliminated

Not seen subs in ranked battles, so I will play them for the time being.

 

BUT I WILL NEVER EVER PLAY ANY GAME MODE IN WHICH THE SHORT SIGHTED WARGAMING HAVE PUT SUBS INTO.

 

WARGAMING, WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO WAKE UP TO THE FACT THAT NOBODY WANTS SUBS IN THE GAME EXCEPT YOU.

You have done about half of it, so maybe re-read the stuff that was written?

Yes you improved them. But about 50%...

This. Anyone that complains about Petro/Thunderer/Smolensk/Submarines/<insert ship of choice> but neglects to EVERY SINGLE TIME mention the 800 pound gorilla in the room that is CV's deserves no attention whatsoever. As long as CV's are in the game, no other ship may be called OP, because any CV is 10x more broken than the  most broken surface ship.

WG being WG they only do what they want. Petitioning against anything will result in the same outcome. You might as well ask/beg Sony, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Siemens, Samsung, Ford or Nasa not to put subs in the game, sadly.

You are right, I hence petition for guided missile cruisers and DDGs with ASW self guided torps and missiles, we can start with Sherman and fries/groen then move on

At least do the same regarding CVs then. Between them and Subs, the latter is by far the bigger evil.

I second this. From now on BBs are only AA screens and CV support, or port queens/outdoor museum pieces if not seafloor ornaments, same as the rest of the current ships. Only CVs will be moving on as is, but then reconfigured to be able to launch jet fighters.

Wargaming is slowly eliminating all skill and fun from the game, but they're taking their time. And you shouldn't try to change their minds, it's been tried many times.

Wargaming always celebrates its great, big and regular updates. Only when it comes to the concerns of the player base does it take time and only progress in small, slow steps.

Which of course makes Wargaming incredibly sorry.

 

Maybe they'll change at some point, but they're currently still trying with massive advertising for the frustrated players who stay away from the game.

remove them, it's obvious the majority don't want them, i just played against one and i had no idea where it was until popped up behind me and torped me, the oil is ok i guess but when multiple charges don't kill it you're playing a guessing game hoping it does something stupid, how can something be so close and undetectable? You can't swing your turrets around to hit it before it releases its tops and disappears, good fun whilst you have a super CV harassing you...... motivation to play the game today totally died, not fun anymore

Or introduce a new mode - for CVs and Submarines only (unless someone want to play another class in that mode) and it's the only mode either can play.

Would be easy, give ships "asdic" (which many had at the time), it should detect subs WHENEVER THEY MOVE in a certain area.
Would not give a clear picture like hydro, but sort of a vague/on-off grey shadow. Then you'd at least know what he is up to. 

And that asdic should work all depths, except maximum depth, and within a certain radius. Only if he is 100% INACTIVE it would "fade out". 

We even had it before, on some iteration on the test server. IF he was near, he was detected, and if he went down, he gave a BUBBLE-STREAK.
UNTIL HE REACHED SOME FINAL DEPTH. 

 

Also, finally dump that "ping" and the ludicrous guided torps,  if they really want it just because they like that PING sound so much: 
make it "magnetic torpedoes" that explode under the hull and do extra (citadel) damage or guaranteed flooding.
But then give ships a cooldown-consumable for "degaussing". Or even better, a captain skill.

If your ship is degaussed then those torps will... (whatever... like, do meagre damage, or have a nice self-destruct effect...).
