Played with them in PvP + Co-op mow - and they are Horrendous

 

The whole DCP system is still an absolute joke - you DCP the sub just waits and pings again

 

Sub detection also hardly works - I hydroed and couldn't spot a sub that was almost directly below me even though the DD in smoke 4km away behind an island  was !!!!! . The sub just popped up torped me and dived before I had any chance at all to react - and this is balanced and entertaining gameplay - I don't think so

Capital ships have some of the longest range ASW. If you think that's bad, try a cruiser.

No, really, feedback has been so overwhelmingly negative that I have no idea how we can tell you how much we hate submarines. You claimed "Players like to press the G button" as a positive aspect of submarines ffs ...

I would love to see the percentage of players, if asked, want them in the game as opposed to those who don't. They are pure toxicity. Games are supposed to be fun. Who finds incessant pinging and torps that still can't be avoided remotely enjoyable? Add the new stun mechanic to that and DCP will become almost useless. Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping. I just played a game where 2 subs sailed through the middle and sank 2 BBs and a CV unspotted all game totally unopposed how is this "fun and engaging" at least with carriers you can shoot the planes down and form a flak bubble with other players literally uninstalled straight after i'm going playing tanks until you fix this current mockery or have you made tanks worse as well as I came here to get away from there

CVs are bad enough, especially when they're in 5v5 ranked. Subs are just introducing a level of toxicity to the game that goes beyond a mistake or getting mechanics a bit wrong. They are impossible to balance. They're either useless or a complete misery for anyone playing against them. WG seems to have a self-destructive streak a mile wide.

It depends on which map you choose, as some doesn't have underwater world being ready.

 

Unfortunately no. Dutch cruisers already have airstrike btw. 

Okhotnik and Leone unforutnately are not getting ASW.

This will be fun ... 0% chance to counter subs , as you dont have ASW... genius move from WGs side.

 

I guess CVs and Kearsarge and other Hybrid ships will be left without ASW too ?

When WG add the new support carriers they will disable your DCP too with their bombs:cap_like:

It seems that WG think making the game a misery for any player on the wrong end of subs, cvs, and now stun cvs is how to make the game more enjoyable. Maybe for the CVs and subs it will be great fun. That is making a very small % of players in games roar with laughter at the expense of the large proportion of other players. cv+support cv +2 subs per side. My math tells me that you have 4 players per team happy and 8 extremely unhappy. That's what's called Russian fun.

Stunt on Arty was a " Great success" as Borat would say ... so Stunt needs to come to WoWs too :D

 

Also i dont get why CV & SS is not a extra on top of the 12 surface ship , today i had a game 2 CV 3 SS 3 DD ... i bet the 4BB / team didnt had much fun...

Just had a try in a sub, really good underwater stuff I have to say. Everything else was poor as you would expect from WG, very little info as usual. But for me I won't bother with Subs ever again. Could anybody recommend a non Russian game. Slava Ukraine.

Even better try a Ship which has any kind of airstrike ( Dutch CA, Kearsarge, CVs) ... you will have no ASW ... so if the sub want to kill you ... he will kill you without any counterplay :P

They still are too op. They can unsubmerge next to you, take half of your live and then submerge again and take almost no damage. Thats just frustrating...

Lurking?! Just had battle, 3 SUBS PER TEAM! 1 cv, 4 dds, 1 cruiser, 3 SUBS and rest bbs PER TEAM... T6-T8 mix (subs are also mix). STOP THIS MESS!!!

Not to mention the non-stop ping thing, not only is it irritating as a sound but you lose track after some point. Also add the fact that sub can see when its target has used the repair party and let his team know so they can spam him with HE again.

How are homing torpedoes a good idea, you have created a situation where it is impossible to avoid torpedoes. You can't even drag out your "just dodge" comment that was used when people were complaining about CV's

Are you going to bother to respond @The_EURL_Guy @MrConway ?

Or are negative opinions about subs not worthy of your time?

If you can't be bothered to respond then I guess that answers the second question and shows your contempt for the community

I am pretty much very good with logic, but this time I am very very struggle with logic, so could anyone try to explain to me this situation: where is logic to give players 2 new tt lines and after month or two ruin that new lines? I talk about limited DCP in german battlecruisers and netherlands cruiser line without ASW or depth charges against subs???BTW. remember - soviet bbs have also limited DCP... And yes - also very slow reload of DCP in many others lines...

 

Hallo WG, where is logic in all that?!

The problem with submarines is that the top one can't duel,
no good weapons for that either, 
and no indication where to put depth charges
side, front of back end, and no anti-sub {sonar} Rader and or 
hydro if the sub is submerged.
The sub within +- 4 sec. is underwater so fast.and when submarine is submerged it 
doesn't even use a periscope just look around close and shoot with AIM-9 Sidewinder like torpedoes 
{sub should have been blind underwater and only need its hydro{sonar} use} the Dd's itself smoke doesn't work, 
it undermines the game, I see many games when the team submarine sees the team all go to the other side, 
itself camp ship Moskva flees, it undermined ALL ships All types every 
level!! play against it IS NOT FUN!!! †

Wow's fault is that they are in a tunnel version and don't look at the surface ships and are not modified like 
"Sonar<-- for DDs and Cruisers and weapon targeting equipment,or anti sub planes.

Yesterday I had a game with my Monty against a division of 2 Balaos.

If we though that against a CV we had no counter but an "automatic" AA system and that was pure RNG, against a Submarine we don't have neither RNG.

Pinged, torped, repair... Pinged, torped, half of the hp removed... Pinged, torped, repair... Pinged, torped, 10k left... Pinged, torped, repair... Pinged, torped, dead. SO FUNNY.

Simply put, the game is just worse with subs. Most of the time the sub player offers nothing to the team, every once in a while you face a good sub player which is impossible to outplay with their homing gimmick, you can't defend yourself unless you're right next to them and the game feels very slow and boring.

That being said, whenever I have a sub in my team I'd rather have another surface ship instead, subs are the epitome of making a game less fun.
