Finally had enough

Hey guys,

 

I realize that probably nobody cares and many of you have come to the same conclusion already, but I need to write this down to get some closure. Here goes.

 

I'm a mid-level player. Stats are okay, not great, not bad (WR 54%, PR 1360). I started playing this game and kept on doing so over the years because I think this game concept has an incredible potential and I was hoping for things to improve. All of the money-grab stuff didn't really affect me because I never spent money on this game, even though they did some amazingly scummy things.

 

The thing that brought me to my decision to finally quit is because I noticed that I was hardly having any fun anymore. Either you get uptiered against a T8 CV when you play a T6 DD. Or you get a game with 2 CVs. Or the new russian CVs with their dumb-as-hell skipbombs. Or you get the drop on a cruiser in your BB from 6 kms, only to find all of your shells go anywhere except where you aim them because RNGesus says no. Or you get a team that just runs from the get-go or just doesn't seem to grasp the most basic concepts on how to play the game, even on T10. Superships... It's just not worth it to play anymore. When I do, my day is usually ruined.

 

This really sucks because I really believe that this game is gorgeous and the concept can be built out to be incredible fun, but WG seems to be committed to make this game as miserable to play as possible. I don't see how that makes sense, but hey, what do I know.

 

Just uninstalled with the following message to WG (not that they will ever read it): 

"You guys keep making this game horrible to play at every possible turn. I'm really not kidding, you have made this brilliant idea and gorgeous looking thing into a genuine cancer to play. Shame on you."

I suspect WG won't miss you. Good players are bad for business. Those that don't spend money even more so... A shame really, the game needs more players of your quality, not fewer...

Funnily enough, I was in exactly the same position as you about 26 months ago (except for the whole not-spending-money-on-the-game thing - I have a few premiums, and I bought doubloons and premium camos).

Bored of the same old , being a mildly above-average player who experiences tons of unfun steamroll losses/wins where they could do absolutely nothing to really make a difference.

So I quit back in January 2020.

I was perfectly fine leaving the game where I left it. I was done and I moved on to other games, and I didn't regret a thing. WG could keep all the bad money I spent, I sure as hell am never going to throw good money after it.

 

Well, then February this year comes around and I just feel a pang of wanting to relive some "golden oldies", as it were, in my favourite T4/5 premiums (Yuubari, Kamikaze, Okhotnik).

And now here I am, back to trying to grind Jutland to evolve her into a Daring.

The game is still pretty fun and relaxing back at low tiers, where the bull T9+ experience is nonexistent. Occasionally I'll just go back there when I'm having a rough experience at high tiers (which is to say ALL THE TIME).

Operations are still fun. Still a shame that they're still being ignored by the devs.

And I randomly ended up with 32 days of premium from the Super Container from finally completing Stage 4 of the Yamamoto campaign. Which is annoying, as I wasn't really planning to keep playing for another month...

 

You're right in saying that people don't care if you leave. Sometimes it's just better to go and not say anything.

But seeing as you have announced your departure, allow me to wish you well for the future.

And to remind you that there's still a (mostly) friendly community here if you ever feel like coming back.

Or, you can do what I did for the two years I wasn't playing and not actually leave, just lurk around the Off-Topic section of the forums.

I feel you and I even deleted my old account in a big frustration moment. But I'm back here stronger, and against all odds still trying to get the best out of the game.

 

Getting a break is always fine. When you feel the itch again, you can come back. 

 

Spending money is for one's decision. Maybe you could buy a ship or two that you will really enjoy and join the community again sometime in the future. WG will throw you some cashback coupons I'm sure to lure you back.

I've felt this exact same way, I too made a post about my leave, and it does help. I've spent more money on this game than I'd like to admit (funnily enough they're all TVI-VIII ), which drove me to Co-Op, which led to no longer having fun.

 

Take as long of a break as you need, you'll do FAR better after a good few weeks and months

I had a about a year long break from the game and came back for the sno flakes event. I originally stopped due to the hell of playing Random and Ranked. Now I primarily play CoOp/PvE and the game experience have never been so good.
Sure the XP/credits earnings are slower but the frustrations are also much much lower which more than compensates for the lower earnings.
Perhaps playing CoOp/PvE will benefit you too?

Completely agree with the OP - again a mid level player and the game is just less fun. I am sick of playing Tier IX battleships in my TVII light cruiser and the proposed aircraft spotting mechanic will make these ships essentially redundant. I don't want to play BBs  which seems to be what WG want us to do or CVs and under no circumstances submarines so as my favourite classes of DDs and CLs will be useless I suspect I will go and find something else to do with my time.

WG does not care about the game's health at all. It could have been so awesome. I cannot count the times where you would have an awesome exciting end game with any possible outcome that gets ruined by some deep red tomato CV sh****** on everyone without any possible counterplay. Then there are more and more options to buy into tier X and on all tiers it is extremely frustrating having to deal with players that lack the very least game basics. The majority of games is a rofl stomp fiesta. WG does not care. All we get is more CVs, lootboxes and submarines. Farewell and I hope you can stick to your decision and never will return. Because I know you will feel the very deep same frustration only after a handful of battles like team members sailing only backwards, being afk, shooting, getting spotted when the game is won on points and thus getting deleted and throwing the game, torping DDs in an Asashio and complain about cheaters, suicide and yolo players and BB blue line Kevins. I have been there too. Nothing will ever change. The WG franchise caters to complete braindead bot players that do not understanding nor question the decisions WG makes unfortunately.

I took more or less a year off,  but starting playing again during the last snowflake event. However,  I think I'm bad losing streak away from stopping again.

 

Recently I've had at few games where we won (random) without losing a ship, and I don't recall that ever happening "back in the day". And as DD player - against a CV + 5 Radar ships (when we had one) - it's is not really a recipe for a fun game. And as for some of potatoes with the super ships... jeez.

Yeah, the community is fun enough. If only the devs were more interested of making the game in that manner. You would think that they'd make the game that is more fun for the community, as that will let them play more. But instead they somehow try to screw the community at each corner, but I can't for the life of me understand why devs do that, make players unhappy and making dumb decisioms that go directly into tye wishes of their community....

Yes and thats why PTR is even more rewarding for doing missions then live server missions.

Now you can get SC for 15k base EXP on PTR + 3 recruiting crates.

My attitude towards the game is this could be a fantastic game but WarGaming is a dog crap company in everyway 

 

However i except this fact and play until the RNG annoys me this can be 3 games in or 3 hours in ..once this happens i log out for a 3 days to  a week then play a few games see how my RNG is  

 

I find myself playing a lot less now days ..This is OK with me,,, less time wasted more productive in real life ..WeeGee will never get my money and are lucky to get some of my time
