Personally I think the most impressive are the SFX. Didn't knew what overcame me when I first heard the rumble.

The art team of WG is top class.

The GFX quality is superb.

Wrong kind of lava for a stratovolcano.

Lol that was my thought also :) I watch too many Vulcano documentaries (watch GeologyHub)

Why is it wrong? I would expect high viscosity lava ʻaʻā . Hard to tell on a picture, but it doesn't look like fast running. But I'm also not a specialist for volcanism

I doubt that the ART team has any geology majors. I don't see the point of nitpicking the type of lava on a really nice looking map feature.

Wrong type of smoke for a volcano too.

Volcano smoke/ash doesn't disperse, but forms a gigantic plume well up into the stratosphere - as seen in all real world footage. The stuff coming out of the WG volcano appears to be black steam - because it is vaporising and disappearing.

That's most likely a simple engine limitation. Creating a smoke column that is non-dispersing  would require too many changes to be feasible.

It is true only in the case of Plinian eruption (e.g. Vesuvius in 79 AD) , but in the case of the Hawaiian eruption (I personally observed this type last autumn in Stromboli and Etna) it looks similarly as it is depicted in the game...

Plus play havoc on visibility... :cap_wander:

Did you have a closer look ? From the distance you can actually see the whole smoke column it is a 2D texture ... (hint it always faces the camera the same way no matter where you rotate the camera around the volcano).

If I don't outright realize what is the map , usually I start to look around for the Shiki....:Smile_coin::Smile_facepalm:

Your right ofcourse it's a nice feature and i am hardly a Geology major but have interest in Geology because of my archelogy interest you look at features very different.

Never thought so many vulcano's are in the world and you never expect one when you just walk the landscape. Like the US everyone knows about Yellostone but does everyone know there are 2 more fields like yellow stone in the US? Italy everyone knows about Pompei but in the bay of Napels you have one much bigger and the amount of Vulcano's still active on the mainland is riddiculus.

WG should model Underwater Vulcanos that erupts if a Sub passes over it. And the sub should be instantly obliterated.

Yeah, but then....tsunamis? I mean......ouch....

Besides walls of skill we would have.... wall of water?

That is now how a Tsunami works to my knowledge. Until it hit land that is. So it would be a win win, take out Subs and Island huggers :cap_like:

RNG says "hi" to capsizing.

Detonation is sad - it no longer feels special.

I'm sure we'd be fine as long as we had Leslie Nielsen as captain. :Smile_hiding:
