Brawl ship class needs to be mirrored.

You can't have 2bb and a DD vs 2 cruiser and a DD ... That's just wasting time for the players as one team has 0 chance ... Gl fighting 2 gulio cesare with 2 Omaha's.

What's the motivation for this I wonder? Variety is not always the spice of life. Not so bad imho and more fun maybe in lower tiers, but higher tiers not that great.

I have 2 possibe explanations that "fit nicely":

The "Brawl" is supposed to be "Skill Ranked".

Another WeeGee sales drive based on being competitive in a game mode ............Create a game mode where specific ships can be OP .....Then sell said ships in the armoury ....May I introduce  The HMS Gin Palace Commonly know as HMS Agincourt...You sneaky Russians

I agree, but - being starry blue eyed and innocent - also brawl is just fun BECAUSE you get the odd mm but only within your tier. 
I also admire your patience! 3 min is a long time so I assume you qued in bbs? The few times i tried to enter with a bb i get fed up after max 2 and play cruiser or dd instead. 😊

Ranked used to be fun and casual. Now because it is skill based matchmaking it is tryhard-ish from the getgo.

Because it is way more enjoyable for certain classes to entirely smash others via the miracle of the random matchmaker? I guess the saving grace is that it is not 1v1.

You mean the other T5 BBs with 14x 305mm guns, long range secondaries and good HP pool that trade this by having no AA which is not used in this mode anyway? It was exactly the same with the Pommern, when they introduced the 3v3 Brawl on T9 and even though these ships are not an auto-win button, brawl was very much tailored around them.

 

Yes, there are also other ships that benefit from this, but those are not sold simultaneously in the premium shop.

 

Strange coincidences.

No, I am talking about BB that can actually move into position in time and hit stuff with their working AP, that are not dependent to leisurely stroll into enemy torpedos without hydro to make a gimmick work.

Its not just the "OP" BBs (GC) that are doing too well here, its BBs in general that are too good.
When there isnt a cap on one class and you can div freely without a mirrored comp, you'd be a fool not to run something like any variation of BB + DD.
Cruisers really dont offer much when BBs just dominate them in almost all aspects.

Same reason WG had to hard cap the number of BBs in CBs, otherwise people would spam those paired with a few DDs.

Also nice is two kamikaze vs double bb and a cruiser xD it's like ," you can go afk it's lost" before start. 

But maybe this leads to only good players playing it as the worst player all day I met was 53% and half was unicums.

On a side note, I think this time in V or next turn in VII brawl is mostly unfair for solo players. In the rush hour, there are many 3ship teams waiting, first this causes a long waiting time because you will need to wait for other solo or 2ship teams. Second, unlike the previous VI or VIII or X brawls, there is no CV in the game. Scouting is a big problem, not to mention a lack of communication between non-teammates.

I know the game designer rarely listens to the opinion in the forum, but I do wish that next time we can come back to even number, VI, VIII and X brawls.

That obviously depends on a torpedo carrier still being around by then. They have a habit of evaporating quickly in a brawl. If you're up against Agincourt in a BB slug fest at close range, the outcome is a foregone conclusion. And that includes German BBs with secondary spec.

When the enemy is clueless, you can win with any ship. Against a halfway competent enemy, Agincourt would need to push against torps or stay out of secondary range.

I agree with what many indicate above that the outcome of the brawl is pretty much pre-ordained by the matchmaker. If you have no DD on your team and the other one has, it is an uphill struggle from the start.

 

In addition, as I said elsewhere, the bad habits that player pick up in random (like camping behind an island or reversing battleships) are a guarantee for a fast trip back to port.

 

I thought cruisers would be fun here but you have a better chance in a BB or a DD.

 

And yes, Agincourt in this mode is very much OP, if she does not get taken out early.

In a random battle, yes, absolutely. But in a brawl everybody gets drawn to the cap circle. And if the DD caps, backed up by Agincourt just outside, then that's it.

When Agincourt is outside the cap circle, outside of torpedo range, and the enemy BB is also outside the cap circle, outside of torpedo range, then they are not in secondary range. And if Agincourt gets closer, she is in torpedo range.

Picture this: Team 1 - DD, Agincourt, Konig; Team 2 - CL, Pyotr Velikyi, Konig.

Team 1 DD moves into cap, Agincourt is backing her up.  Team 2 has to move into cap to drive out DD but it takes a while to get there. Team 1 in the meantime can set up a nice kill zone with BB crossfire and secondaries. The CL has to focus on the DD as the priority target. Even if the DD gets sunk by the CL, Agincourt can take out the CL and Team 2 Konig easily with secondaries, and the Pyotr can be taken care of later by the Team 1 Konig and the Agincourt, if she survives. Checkmate.

Initially i though this too, and also was suprised to see a div 3 vs a non div 3, however after playing through brawls yesterday, none of this seems to matter in terms of outcome as even the coordinated 3 man divs are sometimes shyte, sometimes the okhotnik takes out the dd and both bbs even if his team mates die

 

It seems what you need to do is balance out the okhotniks :fish_viking:

 

PS what is making thee a bunch more fun is the total absence of long range spotting things like radar and CVs. Now you only have to worry about german hydro and the odd fighter plane in order to close the range and have a good ole brawl. This is much more fun.
