Ships you dread to see in ranked

For me it is Satsuma, Bourgogne and Yoshino. 

A Satsuma always seems to be played by a 40-45% WR player who first hides behind the islands of an uncontested cap and then only comes out with full HP when half the team has been killed.

Bourgogne can only be played at max range, no matter if the game is being decided at the other side of the map in a knife fight.

Yoshino not only just spams at long range, but is always bizarrely ineffective and dies after being fired on for just 1 minute.

Special mention: Petro. While the red Petro is left alone by my team to radar me 3 times at my cap, the green Petro stays back outside of radar range and is devstruck by an enemy BB 3 minutes into the game.

 

What ships do you dread to have on your ranked team?

Satsuma, because, like you, I perceive it's played by 45% players who snipe.

Petra, because that ship should not be in the game. Kremlin, same reason.

 

Napoli, because its food. Most players have no clue how to make it work. 

Smalland, because I play Shim.

Shima and Gearing. Most likely sub 45% player getting into gunfight vs OP gunboats, smoking up within radar range, or charging ahead in the middle when CVs are present, dying first in the match.

It is captains, not ships. Check potatoalert before the match. That's the thing to be dreadful of.

 

May be Incomparable. Pretty new so who has it had steel in their armory rdy to get it. Most of the time experienced player who know what they are doing. 

 

But that sih, how effective for ranked thats another debate.

Dont do it. Srysly there are good reasons for not doing that: 

 

1. You will loose your mind over time. 

2. Self-fullfilling Prophecy: Dont go into a match with the mindset: "OMG Team is crap, time to suicide/farm dmg etc..." You will loose more with that mindset. 

 

Ontopic: 

CVs in general are annoying AF. They have the potential to mess up your play even if they are complete apelords. 

I mostly dread Shima-Players on my own team. They usually cant be trusted and mostly just do nothing and die. 

Next in line: GK-Players. I dont think I have ever seen a good one. You can predict the outcome of the battle by counting GKs: The team that has the most looses.

Your GK reminds me of the type of Schlieffen players whose only tactic is: must yolo to use my secondaries :cap_rambo:

Any CVs. They ruin stealth or conceal based tactics which is a major part of the game imo.

It's not the ships ... I mean I am playing Khaba in this Sprint, I am a bad player by all stats and I am managing 80% WR in Bronze. Ok it's only 12 games but still ... I had 54% WR in the Gearing but that was not the ships fault again ....

I actually somewhat respect the gearings, they are often quite good with smokes for teammates, even the statwise potatoe ones.

Thunderers because they can be absolutely useless spamming HE from maxrange and still be #1 saving a star at the end of the game.

Supper ships. Annapolis hinding back with 2k games 40% wr potato who dont even grasp that he coudl win this game alone.

Correct but I've seen very effective use of sclieffens to bully the cap and around. 

 

With Hydro you're almost immune to torps, DD's cant smoke in cap, you can tank, and also engage multiple targets at once using both guns and secondaries.

 

Even if you die, you get a Cap and most of the time a unsuspecting enemy DD going down with you. Which is a good recipe for a win.

guns, secondaries AND torpedoes ...

 

Schileffen rushing into a cap is a nightmare unless stopped/reduced before he can camp in.

On my team: Yoshino, Thunderer, any of the superships...

 

On the enemy team: Ragnar, Schlieffen (you can't let them within 12 km of your BB, they're stealthy and they're faster than you), Mino (they always have radar).

Agree with the point earlier that it's more about the captain than the ship, but there are some ships that tend to be driven by the 'less than competent' more than average; such ships are 'yay!' on the other side, and gloom-inducing on mine.

  • Any supership; for a lot of inexperienced folk, these will be the only ships eligible for Ranked that they have, which tends to go as well as you'd expect.
  • Secondary-orientated BBs; as mentioned earlier, there is often a tendency to play badly, just to get the firework display into use. Bonus points for sniping in one!
  • PR; the vast majority of people with these threw money at the screen, and a significant sub-set of them really don't know what they're doing.

Of course, you can get a decent driver in any of these things; in which case, all can be extremely effective.

Also, most of them may be equipped with.... no equipment at all. Captain maybe low on points etc.

Any torp dd. I hate being torped to death by invisible water rockets that show up until they reach some distance. 0 brain movement.
