I don't know, it's just too complicated in my opinion, but I understand WG wants more people to join discord. Simple mission chain would probably do the job too.

For some reason I read "The SHOTGUN Trials" and thought this might be a tournament for blapping other ships with a devastating strike.

Well, I do enjoy Ops so have a vast collection of T6 ships but very rarely play the Fuso. Obviously being a Japanese themed skin it had to be a Japanese ship but would have much preferred if it was for the Amagi if not the Izumo or Yamato with a mention to the Nagato too.

 

For PvP, I'm only interested in T8-T10 for regular play but that's maybe just my personal opinion and that's not to say I don't participate in ranked and brawl when they're T6 battles etc, especially since those are somewhat balanced same tier MM modes, just not for randoms. So unfortunately I doubt I'd actually use this ship very often worth me investing any large amount of time grinding this skin. 

 

Also, while the skins visual appearance being nice, naff or ugly is a matter of taste and opinion, my own personal take on it is that I do like the brickwork and that whole pagoda like appearance and that's where it should have stopped. For me, the pagoda appearance is more than enough without being completely OTT, but by adding that giant Samurai warrior statue it's imho, bordering on the ridiculous and more like some meme. Don't get me wrong the title is "Shogun" and so ya, I understand the leaning towards applying a Samurai warrior on the ships somewhere but my God that's a ginormous. Perhaps simply applying the Shogun helmet as a Bow ornament instead would have been visually appealing, included that leaning towards a Shogun yet not actually been a "what the FFF is that? waahahaha!!" appearance.

The new skin will most likely be available for Community Tokens - just like most other community-driven content.

That's always a risk with unique content - not everybody will like it. But that's the beauty of the game - you have many other choices and can decide if you want to get this content or not.

Thanks for the feedback - the idea was inspired by suggestions from the community and we thought it's an interesting, yet of course clearly non-historical concept. But we also want to do something different sometimes and also for ships outside of TIX/TX - the Fuso is still one of the most popular ships and it didn't have any special skin yet.

Well, that would make sense to go with the Fuso instead of some other IJN BB options then and it's a fine BB for T6 with it's 12 chunky guns.

 

Like I said, everyone has their own personal tastes and for some, they'll like, for other's not so much and as mentioned, personally I think the pagodo details are actually really nice looking, highlighting turrets and casemate secondaries nicely but as for that giant Samurai is just horrid lol! 

 

Thing is, if you are fighting with this ship or against this ship, you won't really see any of the pagoda detailing, it might not even render from far away depending on graphics setting or at least not enough as to look anything different much from a regular style BB so it won't be an eyesore or even noticeable much, just looks like a regular ship moving around, fine, lovely. Only the owner and a very close ships will notice the skin. BUT, that's not going to be the case for the giant statue on top of it lol, which from a distance will still very much catch a persons eye and while the actual Shogun details might not be seen, that silhouette of a giant man standing on top of a BB will lol! and I just think it will look really... funny? ridiculous? I'm not sure what the right words are really lol.

There is some info in WG's article that this one will become available for doubloons, can you really confirm that it will be also available for CTs as an alternative way of buying it?

This would be great, if I actually got any tokens. I joined the discord but got no tokens. So either it's not working, or perhaps they'll only be credited later, in which case it would be nice to get a notification if I did it right or not

Weird how this runs. These tokens can't be seen in-game. Only way to check them is on the news article.

Am I getting this right:

 

The Discord part requires me to join (I already was a member) and to post a message (I did that) before feb 7.

There is no way for me to check if the proces went ok right now.

I will only know if it worked on feb 8 when I get my 250 points.

If I do not get my points, some thing went wrong with the linking, but it is too late to fix it.

 

Is it really correct we just have to hope and pray that we get the 250 tokens for the Discord part?
